We booked this for a birthday dinner. It was not at all what I expected – more like a nightclub than a restaurant in many ways. Dark, very loud and alive.
I really liked the overall experience. The food was great, the service was first class, and the overall ambience was unexpectedly fabulous.
The physical layout of Buddakan is unique – varying from the casual bar area on entry, to the more “formal” dining areas, through to the fabulous downstairs room with chandelier.
I was presented with a complementary birthday desert – I don’t even recall how they knew it was my birthday – which was a lovely touch.
I’d highly recommend Buddakan. It’s a shame we don’t have places quite like this is Australia.
