“MANHATTAN CENTRE - VERY CENTRAL”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

I would like to mention that Manhattan centre hotel and the Club Quarters are the same hotel - even though they rated separately on trip advisor. It is very nice place for visitng nyc. Basic though clean and comfortable in prime location near every thing. For NYC it is a real gem in sensible price (I looked for hotel that charges up-to $200). Recommended.

I am a big business traveller but this was an unfortunate experience that I wish had never happened and I find it hard to believe "hotels" such as this can call itself a hotel. My honest advice stay away. The entrance was like a back alley exit, the rooms were tiny, the shower room was disgusting an the room decor was more like a highway motel. Strongly urge to not book here. Worst of all the staff did not care one bit to move us to another room and we checked out the next morning even though it cost our company over $2,500 non refundable expense. The hotel should be ashamed to take people's money!,

Booked through Hotwire. Usually stay above 4 stars, but the location was tempting.
Checked in for a 3 night stay. Top floor room. Immediately felt disappointed at the worn room, but we figured this is a 3 1/2 hotel.
Felt itchy all night. We should have switched rooms, but left a note for the housekeeper for new sheets instead. Housekeeper accommodated us and left us a nice thank you note for the tip.
2nd morning, wife woke up with small bite/welts all over her back. Called downstairs and requested room change.
Asked to speak with senior manager who came from a sister hotel a few buildings away. While polite and courteous, she never asked about our experience and instead outlined steps (exterminator/cleaning/etc) and said she'd call back with news (they use a dog that sniffs out bedbugs and found nothing).
New room on the 17th floor was much cleaner and well maintained. Also had a fridge and microwave which our last room lacked. Don't assume the higher floors are nicer.
Overall, great location, rooms can be iffy, and the fact that my wife woke up with bug bites was never addressed after the dog confirmed the room had no bedbugs, so now we'll have to drop off our clothes at the dry cleaners on our way back home just to be safe.
Would I recommend this hotel? Do so at your own risk. If you walk into a room and something feels off, ask for a different room because there are cleaner ones somewhere in the hotel.

Fabulous location and fine in-house cafe (Terrace Restaurant) combine with comfortable bed. Reality check: very compact spaces, creepy slow elevators and underwhelming housekeeping (take 2 towels, leave 1; clean coffee pot, leave no coffee; take used soap, leave none; knock at door, optional). Perspective: the positives far outweigh the negatives, and the price was fair for the location alone.

Room Tip: High floor may not assure a view, but does get you elevator delays, so for the same money, lower is...

Club Quarters has several chains across the U.S. and London, but this was my first time to stay at one of their location at Rockefeller Center, NYC. It is well situated across from Rockfeller Center, a few feet from 5th Ave H&M and Radio Music Hall on 6th Ave. The entrance is low-key, but it's the door right next to Johnny Utah's on 51st street. The staff were professional and provided service with a smile. There are two elevators, but the wait wasn't too bad with our room being on the 17th floor. However, it got annoying after awhile having to insert your hotel key everytime you go to a floor (including the lobby) eventhough this was a safety precaution to the guests. The rooms are very small, but most NYC hotels have small rooms. However, it was laid out enough for two people to maneauver around the lmited space. Our view were the skyline of Manhattan. Although the room was small, it was very clean and interestingly comfortable. The bathroom is tiny, but it had great water pressure, warm water, and plenty of towels (no tub, only a stand shower). In the closet there is an additional blanket that was so soft and enjoyed cuddling into with the outside cold weather of NYC. We did do a business lunch on the Terrace cafe, which was enclosed due to the weather, but you were still able to see Rockefeller Center and Radio Music Hall. We started off the trip with a NY Strip, that was well cooked and flavorful. The hotel also offers a gym, which was very small and outside of it were small shower rooms. Every other floors do provide free bottle water service, which was a nice touch to a long day in NYC. The only con I would say about Club Quarters were thin walls, we could hear our neighbors laughing and talking until midnight when they finally left the room. However, for the wonderful service, ammenities, and location, I would definately go back to this hotel since it has become my new favourite. There are also two subway lines nearby, the orange line around the corner from Radio Music Hall and the blue line around the corner from Uniqlo store on 5th. Club Quarters has two other hotels in NYC located in Midtown 45th St. and Wall St. However, the location across from Rockefeller is probably the best for tourists. BON VOYAGE!

Room Tip: Request for a high floor to get limited street noise and although a front street facing room gives y...

OVerall a nice room, very small, but worked for our purpose there which was to NOT be in the room and get out and explore the city! Walking distance to Times Square, train stations, and of course Rockefeller Center. No compliants...would stay again in a heartbeat.
