“Loved Rocky!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

I am not a big fan of the movie franchise, but this production told the familiar story in the most imaginative way. The staging alone is worth the price of a ticket, especially in the second act. It's a good story, well told and acted, and the music added to the experience. I completely enjoyed the show.

“Fantastic! A different type of musical with a great set!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

Fantastic! A different type of musical that really involves the audience is this timeless story of the underdog. This is a must even if you don't like fighting or boxing because the story catches everyone and the fighting is choreographed and doesn't feel gory. It does start a little slow building relationships and painting a scene of "down and out" Rocky and Adrian and their developing relationship, but accelerates into an story of redemption and finishes in the incredible action packed fight with Apollo Creed. The set is incredible and approach novel. Very spartan and modular. They never lower a curtain except for intermission - scene changes are done with rolling locker banks. For the final boxing scene, the front portion of the audience sitting in "The Golden Circle" leave their seats so that a huge boxing ring can extend forward covering their chairs placing the ring in the center of the theatre. The ring then rotates during the fight drawing everyone in to the action. The Golden Circle patrons then move onto the stage and sit in ringside bleachers for the fight. This is an awesome and unique theatre goer experience and I highly recommend the Golden Circle! It is a game changer!! If you are looking for something different and/or you have boys/men who will attend with you, this show is a winner and still appeals to the girls/women in the crowd. Just great! Tickets can be purchased online through several websites and through Ticketmaster.

“GREAT EXPERIENCE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014

Spectacular staging, one of the most technologically complex Broadway shows I've ever seen. Great stage version of the movie and makes it clear it's really a love story, not about boxing only. Sad that it's not doing well and will probably close, but if you're reading this and it's playing - SEE IT.

“Rocky rocks!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

We loved Rocky at the Winter Garden! The staging, lighting, techy stuff were all fabulous. The boxing passion and choreography were amazing. Best of all, though, was the love story. It was tender, warm and touching. We highly recommend for the whole family.
