We arrived to friendly reception and a clean inviting room. The location was great and we were able to walk to most areas we wanted to go despite inclement weather. The room was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. Everything we needed!

Room Tip: The doors close loudly throughout this hotel., try to be a little away from corner rooms.

Green Features: Very organized building, We recognized the environmentally friendly efforts.

We stayed here for a one night trip into NYC to see Wicked. We got AAA rate of $110 plus tax.
The room was billed as "no view" but really it had a decent view on the 16th floor. It was two queen beds. Everything in the room looked new and was clean. I am a total germaphobe and I was happy. My husband used the gym both days and was very happy too! The lobby puts out coffee in the AM, and fresh water all day. There are computers for use in the lobby. I do think the room could be tight if you were staying there for more than a few nights with more than two adults and one child which is what we were.
The location is excellent- we walked from the Gershwin back to hotel. There are restaurants all around. We walked up to the Roosevelt Island tram.
I would definitely stay again.

My wife and I stayed here at this hotel earlier this month and thoroughly enjoyed the stay even though as you would expect, a hotel room is rarely used when on vacation in the Big Apple.
From previous reviews I can say that we never heard any noise, encountered no real issue with the elevators and found the room to be of reasonable size.
If there was to be one fault then that would be the shower unit/door. When opened it would always drip and soak the floor. But with plenty of towels available this was easily overcome.
The staff in the hotel were friendly and professional and a credit to the management.
Superbly located for all sightseeing this is a hotel that will be our first choice when we visit New York again.

Most of the Hilton Garden Inns are very nice. This one is in a good location and the block was quiet- although there was some street noise. We were not happy with our room- they gave us a handicap one- the shower was awful- water went everywhere. Wasn't any counter space in the bathroom. There was also a strong cleaning solution smell in the hallways and the room and it gave me a headache. Room was very small. I guess if you were staying for a night , this isn't a bad location but I think the hotel needs upgrading.

Room Tip: A room not facing the street may be quieter

Green Features: I don't think whatever cleaning solutions, laundry detergent they use were environmentally friendly.

Stayed two nights before a cruise. Great location in upper east side and walking distance to Bloomingdales, Saks, etc as we wanted to see the Christmas windows. Also short taxi ride from Laguardia. Arrived on a Saturday and took only 20 minutes by taxi. Room was ready early for checkin. We had a room on 27th floor and a city view. It's very tiny and tight so it got us in the mood for what our room on the cruise ship would be like. Beds were comfortable. Even though we were high up we still heard a bit of street noise. Ask for a room facing the back it's a little quieter. Some great restaurants in the local area (Turtle Bay) on 2nd.
The two elevator situation didn't bother us as we were on the top floor so once it got up, we were the first on. So I assume the complaints are for the busy periods.
I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Get a high floor back of hotel. Cityview is okay, but don't see any landmarks.

I travel to NYC on business a few times a year and this is the first time I have stayed here. The location is why I chose it. The rooms are not large and if you had a family of 4, this may not be the best choice, but for a single business person or a couple, this is a superb property. It is fairly new, so the rooms are fresh, new, and bright. The bed was comfortable, the wi fi worked well, the tv and other amenities were superb. The shower temperature and water pressure are the best I have experienced in a hotel in a long time. The lobby has coffee and water with lemons and limes available and a USA Today is provided in the lobby also. The only negative is that the storage space for hang up clothes is not ample, however the heating system worked great without a lot of excess noise. There is a restaurant at the facility, and there are a lot of close amenities nearby and the 53rd and Lexington Subway stop is one block away. So, if you are on a business trip and in the midtown area, and want a nice property, with good service at a good price, then consider this hotel.

Room Tip: A higher room may be more quiet, but this street is not that noisy generally.

Pros: Great location, friendly staff, quiet, comfy beds with starched sheets, lots of towels, free coffee
Cons: slow internet, cold room (despite thermostat) and handicap shower that gets water everywhere.
Overall fantastic since we got a great price and they let us check in 4 hours early!!!
