“Amazing view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

One always has to see New York from different views at different times of day. I like to visit the Top of the Rock during the day and the Empire State Building during the evening/night. There is nothing quite like the skyline of New York, New York from the Top!

“The best view of NYC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

Really nice observation point. Outdoor so nothing obstruct the view, and a great panoramic view to all directions.

Much better than the Empire State Building!

“Better than the Empire”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

We bought a ticket that allowed us to visit during the day and again at night. Two completely different views and perspectives that I highly recommend. Bring a coat and a scarf! It's very chilly!

“Awesome views!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

I've been to the top of the Empire State building but I thought this was even better. We were there about 6:30 at night so it was dark already. Seeing all the city lights added something special, I think. And, seeing the empire state building lit up across from us was breath taking. It was a little foggy (you could barely make out the Statue of Liberty) but I bet on a clear night it would be spectacular. My only complaint if you could call it that was trying to figure out where to get tickets then where to get in line. It's easy to get turned around once you're in Rockafeller Center so maybe more signed would be helpful.

“Incredible views without the queues”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

Did the 86th and 102nd floor observation decks at Empire State and then Top of the Rock a couple days later. One thing you get at Top of the Rock that you do not at ESB observation decks is the inclusion of the Empire State Building in southward views, and northwards you have a great view of Central Park through to the Bronx, but there are pluses and minuses for both. What makes Top of the Rock a great experience is the unobstructed views (no glass/other structures in your way on the highest floor, and even on the lower levels where there is glass it is well-kept and with larger gaps between the glass than at ESB (where you place your camera for the best photos). Add on to the comparatively little queuing and far smaller crowds on the deck (although it is still quite busy) and you an excellently executed NY attraction.
