“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We spent a few days before Christmas and found the room nice what you expect from a Marriott property. A few things that was disappointing.
1. Only 4 elevators for 30 floors wait at time was 20 min.
2. Free breakfast was ok, but not enough seated eating areas.
3. The property is called a time square property, but is several blocks away from time square!

Room Tip: No enough elevaters!

I am a fan of the Marriott Residence Inn. When ever I travel, I try to book a room with this chain of hotels. There are so many choices in Time Square and NYC but this hotel checks all the boxes. It is walking distance to the theater and several iconic spots in the city. The staff was helpful with directions to subways. I like staying one block from the chaos of Time Square and this location is perfect. The lobby is modest but the rooms are spacious and clean. The kitchen is a plus! We enjoyed having ice cream and reheating leftovers. The beds are the best! Marriott is know for its comfy beds. We had a few room requests and all were accomodated. You will not be disappointed with the hotel choice.

Room Tip: I always request an upper floor for quietness from the street below. Also, a corner room gives extr...

Green Features: Being greeted by staff at the entrance gave a feeling of safety and service. I liked that!

Stayed here on our 2nd trip to NYC Room had king bed and pull out sofa bed which was actually comfortable. Bathroom had lots of room. Liked having kitchen counters for extra space to put things. Room was clean and a good size for 3 women. I liked that there was always a male at the entrance to the elevator area. Saw him turn away people from off the street that were wanting to use the restrooms. Liked that you had to insert your key to get to your floor. Felt safe. Location was close to Times Square and Theatre District. We were on 30 floor with view of Bryant park. Room was very quiet. My only complaint would be the breakfast and elevators. Always long line for breakfast and hard to find a place to sit. Long wait at elevator to get back up to your room. Seriously long wait! 15 or more minutes. The morning we left, we had to each take a different elevator because they were always so full only one of us could squeeze on. Staff was polite and always greeted us coming and leaving.

Small but sufficiently sized rooms that are comfortable and cozy. The rooms are furnished with a small kitchenette that has utensils, dishwasher and microwave.....excellent for a cold winter day! It also has free breakfast and a fair spread too.

My boyfriend's office is nearby and he was placed in this hotel for a week due to long work hours. I stayed with him a few nights and was pleasantly surprised this hotel. With it's close proximity to Bryant Park, Times Square, and a bunch of Subway lines, this would be a very convenient hotel for any out-of-town visitors. I work down on W 19th St., near the Flatiron Building, and it took me only 10 minutes to get to my office.

The room was spacious, with a nice little kitchenette and seating area. Though it looks like it's gotten a lot of use, it's still very clean and comfortable. Each morning we were able to enjoy a nice complimentary breakfast on the 3rd floor.

I'd recommend this hotel for anyone visiting from out-of-town. It's particularly nice for business travelers (due to the kitchenette) or anyone visiting who may want to eat a meal in now and then.

Room Tip: Choose a room on a higher floor to escape street noise.

Stayed three days before christmas. The hotel is perfectly situated close to Bryant Park, Times Square and Herald Square. Breakfast was over our expectasions due to other comments, but we experienced a nice breakfast with a large range of choices.

I have a realistic expectation for downtown NYC...high prices and few amenities, but this place was underwhelming. 4 elevators for close to 40 floors. Took forever during busy hours to get down or up....20 minutes in the morning to get from the 20th floor to the lobby. We took the stairs! Good Exercise! Prices on their 3rd floor lounge were absurd. Fries = $10. Bar brand Pinot Grigio = $14. We had better and cheaper food and drinks at the Trump Tower! Rooms - extremely small (tiny!) for average prices $299-$399 per night. We will not stay here again. The new Hyatt on 45th street in Times Square is a little more expensive, but much more impressive with more amenities!
