“Good Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2014

Stayed here as a single female in July 2013 and really enjoyed it. The location is pretty good (a few blocks from 42nd St) and the staff were friendly, helpful and professional (none of which I was expecting in NYC).

I didn't feel unsafe at all in this part of town, so if you're a nervous traveller or this is your first time to NYC, this is a good place to start.

Loved the breakfast which was included in the rate, and the ambiance of the chill out area near the breakfast hall - it's nice to have a place to just sit and watch TV while waiting for the room to be ready etc.

The only negative point (very minor) is the lifts - they are soooo slow! Hopefully by now they have improved the lifts.

Would recommend to anyone, in particular single females.

Room Tip: My room didn't have a good view, but it was large and the cable TV selection was awesome - don...

this hotel is a great hotel for visiting New York. It has everything that you need and the staff are extremely friendly and nothing is to much trouble. When we arrived to check in our room wasn't ready and we had hour wait which isn't bad as it was before check-in time . That nite we received from Maxamillion a gift of cheese and fruit to say sorry for the delay. Also there is unlimited tea and coffee 24hrs which is also a great extra. And also to receive a fab breakfast every morning also saved us on the trip ... when I return to New York I would defiantly stay at this hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night on a brief trip to NYC and we loved it, all the staff in the hotel where friendly and pleasant.
The only thing I could find fault with was the hotel bar didn't open till 4 so we had to wait an hour with no drinks before we could check in, that being said it didn't bother us that much.
The hotel is lovely, clean and as it is so talk has amazing views, the room also has a mini kitchen with fridge, freezer and dishwasher if you had a few days in the city I would defiantly recommend this hotel as you don't have to keep going out for snacks and stuff you can keep things in your room such as fruit, milk and veg. The hotel is also is a great spot for exploring the city.
Would I go back to this hotel? Yes in a heart beat, in fact I'll be back next April

If you are touring throughout NYC and like taking the subway, you can get on any of the subway lines within a short walk from this hotel. One block to the Bryant Park stations, Grand Central is a few blocks east, and Times Square a few blocks west. Close to Times Square but away from the fray. Plenty of take-out restaurants with real food, not fast food, nearby for quick meals, and the entire 3rd floor is set up lounge style with seating areas and tables that you can use for eating or relaxing. Breakfast is served there in the morning and it is very crowded then-but who can blame everyone for taking advantage of a real breakfast (eggs, fruit, cereal & more) before heading out? Try to go well before the 9:30am weekday closing time as food runs out and the staff wastes no time breaking things down. Our studio room, while somewhat spacious by NYC standard, was a bit tight for four, particularly in the bathroom which was right next to one of the beds. We were a family traveling with teens so we made it work; but I wouldn't recommend it for four girls on weekend getaway. Having the kitchen was great so that we could keep snacks and drinks in the fridge-I wish the rest of the room was designed as well. Very small closet and dresser, very limited space in the bathroom for toiletries, etc. Beds were comfortable and while the decor was a bit dated, it wasn't dreary or dirty. We would absolutely stay here again for the convenience of location and getting around town, plus the free breakfast just makes things so much easier in the morning. The area around the hotel is business-y, and we felt safe no matter the time of day.

Room Tip: Ask for higher room away from elevator.

Location -Great hotel. Easy walk to 2 different subway stations offering easy access to all of Manhattan.
A few blocks and an easy walk to Times Square, theatre district, Rockerfellar Centre, Empire State. A wide choice of eateries within walking distance.
Space - Rooms are huge with couch, dining/work table, and fully functioning kitchenette. not one complaint from me. Comfy bed, great shower, room heating excellent and adjustable.
Staff at desk helped out with all I asked for. I found it to be the perfect hotel in our price range.
Laundry onsite was huge and well priced. More than one lift with no waiting. Great bar and reading areas.
My only complaint was breakfast. It was included in the deal. Buffet style, and not a healthy option in site. Oil and sugar did seem to be the main components. Fried potatoes, bacon, burritos, pancakes, waffles, sweet cereals, sugary white bread, and scrambled egg...I could go on. If you are in to brown food you'll be in heaven. I would have killed for some colour....tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms. I should mention that they did have fruit salad. I just wanted a healthy savoury breakfast choice.
Will certainly return.

My husband 11 year old son and myself stayed in a king studio for a three bight stay. Check in was a breeze location was great ( not in times square but very close) full buffet breakfast every morning and free wi-fi. Our room overlooked the Empire State Building which my son loved. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again

We just spent 5 days here while on a trip with our 16 year old granddaughter. The one bedroom suite was actually quite comfortable for the three of us. I was concerned that we would be crowded, but the room was designed to have a sitting area with a sofa bed and a small kitchenette with a full size refrigerator. It had a microwave, toaster, cooking plate, and coffee maker. Since we didn't cook in the room, it was nice to have the refrigerator for drinks and left-overs from the restaurants. We were in room 802, which is a nice corner room that looks out onto 6th Ave. and a side street. With 3 large windows, it made the room bright.
The breakfast buffet had plenty of choices, both hot and cold. The hours are limited, therefore, it can become quite crowded. We ate there a few times, and other times chose to just take a bagel and fruit to our room for comfort.
Location is a big plus - right next to Bryant Park and Times Square. Also within walking distance of the Theater District. The subway entrance is only a couple of blocks away.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our check-in and check-out process was a breeze. Will definitely stay there again when in New York.

Room Tip: When in New York, I always prefer a corner room, as they tend to be a bit roomier. Room 802 has at...
