“Go for the steak tartar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

Stopped by for lunch. Didn't have a reservation but we were sat quite quickly. Pretty restaurant with some business people and some more casual.
Bread basket had rolls (didn't try them) and corn bread that was quite good. Also started with some chips with blue cheese dip - wow, these were so good. Dip is warm and thick. So decadent!
For entrees we tried shrimp and grits (good- grits had great flavor and spice, shrimp were fine, might have liked them blackened, and you can taste the bacon. Portion was good sized. ), lobster club (I didn't try it but the guys loved it), chicken pot pie ( good), and steak tartar (everyone liked this, very good and delicious).
Interesting but small beer selection (draft $9 and bottle $8).
Would definitely go back!

“Consistently a good place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

I have been here many times, but never posted a review. This is a great restaurant from Bobby Flay with his signature style for spicy, creative, and fun dishes. Great food, excellent bar drink selection, and nice atmosphere. The fish, steaks, pork, and other entrees are all good. You cannot go wrong here.

“The best Flay to eat in NY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

Did not disappoint, made a 9pm reservation. Ordered amazing appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts. The best thing about Bobby's food is that you can taste the flavor of every ingredient. Chic atmosphere, not at all touristy when we visited. Would eat here again in a heartbeat.

“Excellent Experience As Always”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014 via mobile

I was surprised to see so few reviews for this restaurant on Trip Advisor. However, it did not stop me from going. In have been to Bar Americain a couple of times over the past few years and have really enjoyed the experience each time.

The servers are very attentive and polite, but the food is what keeps me coming back. Bobby Flay has some excellent ways to prepare steak and this restaurant showcases that. I had a tender, juicy, and very flavorful filet. I normally don't order steak when I am out, but I make an exception when I come to this restaurant. Honestly, I try to replicate Bar Americain's steak recipes when I grill steaks at home.

Every time that I am in New York, this restaurant makes my list of places that I MUST eat at.

“Best seafood platter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

Everything was delicious (my friend said his steak was the best he'd ever had - good to know, coming from "Boy Meets Grill" Flay). The seafood platter is amazing. Get a big one and share it!
