“Wonderful Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed today NEW

Recently stayed here for four nights and loved the hotel. Everything looks new and updated in the lobby. The room was great, very clean and had a nice view! I sleep odd hours, so I requested to not have the maids come in, and the request was met with no issues from the staff. One of the bellmen was extremely helpful, as he suggested I needed a second coat going to the Giants game. I originally was only gonna wear a hoodie, but I didn't get to see him again for thanking him for the great advice! I really ended up needing that! The location is nice is the Upper East Side. There are 2 Subway stops that are not too far away at all, and the location is super close to LaGuardia. Overall I once again had a great experience with a Courtyard Marriott, and the staff, location, and hotel overall here was extremely pleasant and would not hesitate to stay here again.

I stayed in a 1bed suite for 18 nights on a medical trip at this hotel, which was recommended by my hospital and was very glad i did. Initially i was reluctant being used to 5 star+ hotels, but my overall experience made me see why the hotel came recommended.

The staff were extremely courteous and nothing was too much to provide for your comfort. Quite clean and serves your need adequately. The only drawback for me was the lack of room service dining, which meant i had to order from restaurants nearby and go pick up at the reception downstairs when delivered.

Overall, it was a good experience for me while recovering from surgery. I will recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet and nice hotel.

Wasn't expecting much from this place. The room was small and clean. The bathroom was small with below average water pressure. I begged for a room on an upper floor each day as we stayed for 3 nights but could never be moved to a room above the 5th floor (which was really the first floor). We looked towards the building behind the hotel so no view but the room was quiet.. The A/C was fairly loud but after learning how to turn it off the room became much more quiet. The bed was fairly comfortable and the tv had many channels but was very slow to change in between each station. The area is not my favorite part of New York to stay so if you need to stay in the area and want an affordable basic clean room this hotel will suffice. It is by no means luxury and the services are very sparse but the people at the hotel are very nice and our room although dark and without a view was quiet.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor

We booked this hotel because it was somewhat near Mt. Sinai Hospital. Night before my partner was to have surgery the front desk assured us that there would be someone to go out and hail a cab for us (both have health issues currently). Of course, that morning there is no one to help us and the guy at the front desk refuses to help us even after I explain our situation. My partner has the surgery and is released. The next morning around 5 am my partner needs to be taken to the hospital emergency room. He refused to let me call an ambulance. So we make our way down to the lobby. I am begging for the guy at the front desk to go out and call a cab for us. He says to us, I can't leave the front desk. Sorry. At the very least he could have found someone to help us. That was the morning of 12/13/14 around 5 am or 5:30 am. We travel often but will never stay at a Marriott again.
And less important but the housekeeping staff on the 10th floor woke us up each morning early with carts, clanging glasses (which are for some reason left out on the floor each night). They would sit on the floor outside our room talking and laughing. Obviously, my partner was trying to recover from surgery and it would have been nice to have slept in a bit.
And if you are a tourist, this hotel is not near anything. The rooms are very very small and the lighting dim. We had a leak in our shower leaving the floor wet each day. We called but no one ever showed. We also called about getting blankets. No one showed. I had to go down to the lobby and ask again. Unsure if the front desk doesn't get the word to the appropriate personnel or . . . I thought the front desk personnel couldn't have cared less about us. God help you if you have an emergency as we did. Trust us, there is no one there to help you.
We've traveled all around the world for years and this is by far the worst hotel experience we've ever had. The personnel at this hotel should be fired. Start over.

Called ahead to let the staff know would be checking in after midnight. All ok.

Checkin was easy when we arrived.

Room was a good size and the bathroom was too.

Tv with quite a few channels to pick from.

The hotel is located about 10-15 min walk from the subway but easily do-able if you don't mind walking. We did this in driving rain though and it seemed like a lot longer.

For NYC this is good value but its location is a bit far away if you're a tourist.

Stayed at the Courtyard Marriott for 5 nights with my daughter. really big, very clean room with everything you could want including fridge and microwave.. Nice pool and locker room. Staff very friendly and helpful, especially the guy who organizes the transportation and luggage storage.

No meal service at the hotel but free coffee always available. Lots of restaurants, diners, convenience stores, pizzarias and even a gluten free bakery very close though.

Only drawback is that it is a bit far out for your average tourist, taxis arent really an option as take so long due to traffic. Subway is really quick but a 10/15 minute walk away which is OK but awful in the driving rain.

Room Tip: High as possible

Stayed here over New Years during our honeymoon. Room wasn't huge but not bad for New York. Had enough space for bags and to get changed. It's a bit of a hike to all the downtown attractions but pretty quick and easy on the subway. Rooms were clean and of reasonable standard. Relatively quiet part of Manhattan. Short walk to the park. Staff was helpful. We were trying to leave when the "polar vortex" hit. The staff member at the desk seemed surprised at the two idiot Australians trying to leave for the airport at 5am in a blizzard, and suggested we try again tomorrow. But with a coast to coast multi stop trip ahead we insisted, and after calling around for a while he managed to get us a town car which got us to the airport (although the drive took years off our lives) in time to be delayed for many hours, but was a stellar effort by the staff.
