“Antique Theatre - Difficult to Navigate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

We surely enjoyed seeing the beautiful Scarlett Johannson walking around on stage as Maggie in a slip. She and the others in the cast gave a performance both memorable and spectacular. The Richard Rodgers Theatre is one of Broadway's great venues, echoing the plays and musicals performed there over the years. We were in Row N of the orchestra, center, on-the-aisle. The stairs leading to seats in the upper orchestra are steep and narrow, without hand-rails for balance or support. The seats themselves are small, tinier than the tiniest airplane coach. Try not to be dissuaded by that.

“Super CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

I've totally changed my opinion for Scarlett Johansson for better after watching her starring in this performance! She is a great dramatic actress much more soulful then even Liz Taylor!
The performance itself is very exciting and for sure THE MUST on Broadway!

“Weird acoustics in MEZZ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

Saw a fantastic "Porgy and Bess" here. But be warned that there are very weird acoustic affects if you sit in the front MEZ, row F center (107/108). You are actually sitting directly below one edge of the roof dome. This reflects sound from the orchestral pit directly onto the audience.

In the Porgy and Bess production we got incredibly loud brass and woodwind reflections. Moving a few seats to the left or right fixed the problem (luckly we were able to) .. and actually reduced the overall sound level of the production.

Infact, I'd recommend not booking anything in the direct centre of the front MEZZ.. go a few seats off centre .. or on the isle and you should get a more balanced sound picture.

“Too many stairs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

Once seated the theater is great for musicals but getting to your seats require climbing serval flights of stair to the orchestra and then even more flights to the mezzanine. We were in Row A of the front mezzazine and had to walk down a steep flight of stairs with only a small handrail every other row to our seats. The sightlines and acoutics are great but beware if you have a problem waking like I do.
