Description: La Masseria Restaurant is inspired from ancient fortified farmhouses that in the Puglia Region of Italy are called “Masseria”. Executive Chef/Co-Owner, Pino Coladonato, grew up on a Farm in Puglia. He was forced to eat whatever was available but soon was tired of bean puree and decided to take matters into his own hands, creating new ways to use the same few ingredients. Now, with limitless ingredients to choose from, fava beans, chickpeas and lentils are still a core element in many of his entrees. Interior Designer Libby Langdon has created a warm, inviting dining atmosphere. Rustic and relaxed, with plenty of old world charm. Oversized iron sconces custom made from antique wrought iron gates punctuate the walls, and artful displays of antique farm tools mixed with various authentic Italian photographs all add to the farmhouse appeal. The 250-bottle wine list encompasses all regions of Italy with few of the best American and the rest of the world.

“Great Italian food near Times Square”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2013

Our family was visiting NYC last weekend and we were lucky enough to find this place. In addition to great wine, great service and a wonderful window seat, the food was outstanding. We took advantage of the fact that we were a party of 6 and ordered 6 different items so that we could share. We all had a hard time pulling the veal chop away from my son because he didn't want to part with a single bite. We also shared 3 desserts; all of them were great. We spend several weekends in NYC each year and we try new places each trip. It is going to be tough not wanting to return to La Masseria!!

“Good Italian Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

There were seven in our party. We were quickly seated and ordered aperitifs which were served promptly. The restaurant was very busy but we were served quickly. The meal was outstanding and there was a good selection of wines to compliment the menu. This restaurant is very convenient in its proximity to the theater district.

“Class act”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

We had a family dinner for 9 on Sunday afternoon during the holiday season... The staff is top notch ( thanks Ivan ) and didn't miss a beat. Some of had the " sunday sauce " pasta as an appitizer; was a 10... delicious grilled octopus & salads completed the appitizers... Fish special were excellent & very fresh; 2 in the party had rabbit ( something I would never order ) but tasted & was very very good... dessert selections were numerous & very good... A must do NYC Italian; especially before of after the theatre...

“Delicious Italian Food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

Our family of 5 really enjoyed our evening at this fine Italian Restaurant. The food from appetizers to desserts was delicious! We split 3 appetizers amongst us. We had the fried zucchini, the meatballs, and the fresh mozzarella with eggplant and tomato. They were some of the best meatballs I have ever tasted. Three of us ordered pastas for dinner, and all of them were top notch. Fresh pasta with homemade sauces. The other two people in our family ordered a pork special that they can't stop talking about. The teenagers had enough room for dessert and they ate every piece that was on their plate.
The atmosphere inside was very nice. The only reason for not getting 5 stars from me is the bar area gets very crowded when waiting for a table or checking coats. Very close to Time Square and Rockefeller Center. If seeing a show or in this area of the city, a nice restaurant to have dinner at.
