"My stay in your historic West Eleventh Townhouse was brilliant! As an executive traveler I wanted accommodations that allowed me to get away while in NYC. West Eleventh Historic Townhouse provided me with unparalleled serenity. I stayed in the Monet Apt. and it was wonderful. I had the best sleep I have had on the road in years. From the moment I stepped into West Eleventh Townhouse I felt transformed. Your professional staff was excellent and as hosts your graciousness has spoiled me forever. I am looking forward to my next trip NYC because I have found the crown jewel in Greenwich Village! "

We were delighted as soon as we walked into our El Greco apartment. Very spacious, warm and comfortable with a great shower and comfy beds. We soon came to think of it as home while we were staying. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was a quiet and civilised place to stay. Greenwich Village is the perfect location from which to enjoy the city. Spend your days out and about and come home at night to eat with the locals in the heart of the buzz; so many fantastic places to eat and listen to great music on your doorstep. From here, with a good pair of comfortable boots, you can walk to most places on Manhattan Island. We will definitely stay here next time without looking for anywhere else.

My wife and I stayed in the Leonardo Accommodation from Dec. 20th through 26th, 2008. It was our first time spending more than two or three days in the city. Staying at the West Eleventh Townhouse was the right choice. It really makes you feel like more than just a visitor. As you put your key in the front door lock, you feel like your are Oscar Madison, Jerry Seinfeld, or one of those chicks from Sex in the City. Our Room was extremely clean, well appointed, and we very much appreciated the quality bottle of chilled french champagne that was waiting for us. It was polished off within 30 minutes of our arrival. The location is so convenient for getting a cab and it is just around the corner from a great indoor parking lot and the start of Bleecker Street with all sorts of trendy little shops. . There are so many great restaurants close by that it was difficult to decide where to dine. That's one of life's best difficulties to have!! Sleeping was easy, despite the typical sounds of the city we were not familiar with. Staying in the Leonardo Suite with it's close proximity to the couple who own the building gave us the opportunity to become acquainted with them. We shared cocktails one evening and found them so interesting and warm that making their acquaintance was a true highlight of our stay. We've stayed in several hotels in NYC on shorter trips and this experience blew those stays away. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for an alternative to the typical luxury hotel. You get to come and go without navigating a hotel lobby labyrinth and slip into your beautiful room as if you've lived there your whole life. We're already planning our next stay and encourage you to do the same. We really can't point to a flaw worth mentioning.

After a long flight from Sydney we were welcomed by Silvia, who made us feel at home straight away and shown around the El Greco apartment which would be our home for the next two weeks.

A wonderful touch was the bottle of champagne waiting for us on the sideboard. Likewise, on Christmas Day we found some almond chocolate cookies on our door. Being so far from home, particularly at this time of year, it made us feel welcome and special.

The El Greco apartment accommodates three adults comfortably. It is tastefully furnished with a definite Greek flavour - this adds character to the apartment. The bathroom is very comfortable and roomy with plenty of hot water and towels which is always a must.

There is also a small kitchen area with a refrigerator and microwave - we would have liked a toaster as well. There is plenty of seating but we would have appreciated a lounge to relax on after having explored New York on foot all day.

West Eleventh is located in a terrific area with the Magnolia Bakery on the corner - the aroma wafting around is wonderful! Marc Jacobs is on the other corner! There are many designer, and unique stores within a very short distance (i.e. just around the corner) from the apartment building. I know we never tired of soaking up the village atmosphere and there are wonderful restaurants close by and within a ten minute walk! These range from a great pizza to really upmarket cuisine - we can recommend a few as can West Eleventh. In fact we went to at least three restaurants they recommended on their website and we were not disappointed!

If you're a coffee drinker there are a couple of great cafes/coffee shops as well. There are convenience stores as well as delis and a cheese shop if you want to have a night in, too.

We all enjoyed our time in and around the West Eleventh area and that includes our 22 yearold daughter who was in shopping heaven! It's sale time in New York.

The subway is within walking distance of West Eleventh, and we had no trouble finding our way around New York, and we walked a couple times down to the Rockefeller Centre (about 1 hour) for exercise!

A visit to New York at Christmas/New Year is an exciting experience - there is a different feel to Christmas and New Year. Christmas is beautiful with all the decorations on display in and around New York. New York comes alive for New Year's Eve and is such an exciting and vibrant place to be at this time of year and we will not forget this visit.

Our visit to West Eleventh complemented our New York holiday because we experienced real life in New York from fabulous shopping and food to the everyday life including laundry! (A drop off/pick-up laundry service is within an easy walking distance.)

The area is very gracious and elegant and as, we wandered down the side streets we saw some beautiful architecture. Most apartment buildings were decorated for the holidays (a must if you love Christmas and are away from home).

A special thanks to everyone at West Eleventh for making us feel so welcome and at home - we look forward to a return visit really soon.

West Eleventh is a lovely cosy apartment building in a quiet residential location in Greenwich Village.

You will be met by the friendly and warm Sylvia who will tell you everything that you need to know and show you around as well as take care of any questions. Particularly helpful was the ability to leave luggage on our day of check-out (by arrangement) so that we could spend the day relaxing before our late afternoon flight.

This was our second visit to West Eleventh and we would love to come back again soon. As an alternative to the more popular big hotels in amongst the busier parts of Manhattan, we found West Eleventh to be exactly what we wanted and provides the perfect base to get out and around.

The village itself is excellent with many breakfast and evening meal options - particular favourites were Cafe Angelique and Blind Tiger for a great range of domestic beers in a friendly local atmosphere
