If you like "the village" this is a great place to stay. The owners and staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. It's an easy walk to a great collection of restaurants, shops etc, with public transit very close by.

We've just returned from a five night stay in the Marcucci Apartment at West Eleventh Townhouse and we absolutely loved it. The location was perfect for our needs. The neighbourhood is nice and quiet, compared to the madness of Times Square and Midtown, with lots of great places to eat and drink within easy walking distance. The subway stations are less the 5 minutes walk away, so it's very easy to get anywhere you like in Manhattan.

The apartment itself was extremely comfortable and the perfect place to come back to and relax after a hard day pounding the pavements. We've already recommended it to our friends as a great place to stay, and we will definitely return next time we're in New York. Compared to some of the hotels we looked at in this area of town, we thought the apartment was great value and a much nicer experience overall than another bland hotel room.

Spotless, comfortable bed, an apartment in the center of Greenwich Village, the most charming part of New York. Top floor one-bedroom, really a large studio, is light and airy, rare in New York, but must climb three flights of stairs. Other apartments on lower floors.

I have just returned from staying 3 nights with my Mum in the Marcucci apartment - we loved this place.
There are lots of lovely places to eat nearby - we particuarly liked the Bus Stop cafe and you have loads of great boutiques and independant shops on your doorstop.
The Marcucci apartment has one large bedroom and a smaller bedroom too - perfect to get back to at the end of the day and a small kitchen & bathroom.
Silvia who checked us in is great and gave us lots of useful tips as well as booking us a very reasonably priced car back to the airport.
In other reviews, a few people have commented on the stairs and 'rules' - please don't let this put you off:-
The apartment is located up 3 flights of stairs but this really isn't a problem and as the famous Magnolia bakery is only steps from your front door, we saw this as a benefit to work off the cup cakes!
Yes there are a few groundrules but nothing out of the ordinary and you are staying in an apartment not a hotel - this suited us perfectly but if you do want a full hotel service rather than your own place then maybe this isn't for you.
In summary - this place is great and we will definitley return.
