I'm hesitant to share W.11th because we want it to ourselves !! Yes, our son lives down the street in a one bedroom, so instead of imposing on him, we've stayed at W.11 8 or 9 times. We stayed at a dozen hotels in NYC but much prefer this quaint gem in the West Village, that is, if we can get a reservation ! It's booked out for weeks in advance. We've stayed in almost every room and have never had a problem. The rooms are huge and very quiet. Yes, there are rules but it will make you feel much safer and you won't lose the keys. I can see why they don't want you to lose your keys, (my son did at his apt.) and it's a big expense. Silvia is a delight when she meets you at the door. I wish we could have a permanent room at the W.11th Townhouse and Silvia, maybe ask Therese and Hercules if we could have one ?? Or squeeze us in at Christmas time ?

West Eleventh townhouse was great...a true New York/Greenwich Village experience instead of just another hotel room. Main room is nice and large, with a separate sitting room. Kitchen and bath are very small, but certainly good enough for a short stay. Marcucci apt. is on the top floor...very quiet but be prepared for the stairs! All in all, a wonderful NYC experience.

We had a fantastic time. West 11th Street Townhouse was magnificent. Silvia was a wonderful host who went out of her way to help us along. New York truly is the greatest city in the world. Go before you get too old!

This townhouse apartment did not live up to expectations. We waited for at least 15 minutes sitting on doorstep in heat and humidity, in spite of phoning as instructed, before the door was opened and caretaker appeared. We were then issued with draconian rules - consequences of losing keys and ludicrous embargo on guests, which was ridiculous as purpose of visit was to see daughter who was working in Manhatten and had own apartment in Chelsea so it wasn't as if we were sneaking her in to stay - dark, walls lined with plates, friendless and old fashioned, inadequate kitchen area and horrible, cramped bathroom, three floors up narrow staircase. Departure involved keys being grabbed and door being opened for our exit. Fairly noisy with building work starting early morning. Will choose more carefully next time.
