If you want to feel that you are actually living in New York, only 15 to 20 minutes from mid town, in cool Greenwich Village, tree lined streets and in a characterful townhouse...stay here.

It's an individual home..not a chain hotel...so you get those quirks which make your stay that much more interesting.

We can only speak as we find, but some of the slightly moany comments didn't reflect our stay, even when we did manage to break a glass one day, and then a cup the next.

This was my fourth stay at this charming boutique hotel. The West Village location is perfect, close to my work, tons of wonderful places to eat, quiet and very secure. I'm able to relax and feel at home when I return to my comfortable and spacious suite. The staff is friendly, helpful, always trying to meet your needs, and available by phone at any time. If you're looking for something different, not the usual boxy, sterile NYC hotel room-- this is a great choice. I know I will be back!

I really enjoyed staying at West Eleventh Townhouse -- great location, comfortable home-away-from-home feel. I will definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

I spend a portion of every week in NYC and am relieved to finally find a place I can both feel at home while there. The subtle hospitality of the staff, elegant yet comfortable rooms, bucolic patio, and residential neighborhood create an unparalleled guest experience for those seeking quietude.

There is no signage for the property so for the initial visit, recall of the website images is important. Furthermore, grab a quart-sized Baggie and bring your own products as there's not much beyond a bar of soap but feel comfortable leaving your tea bags and maps at home as each room has an ample supply of both. Other noteworthy offerings are the specialty bakery and used bookstore at the end of the block.

My husband and I stayed here in late May and had a lovely time. The location is wonderful and the Marcucci Apartment was quite large by NY standards. I quite liked the three flights of stairs...gave us a bit of exercise. Close to subways and always easy to get a cab on Bleecker.

I was a bit put off by the strict code of not having people up to the room. I was there for a play and was booked on a TV show to promote it and I couldn't have my makeup arists come up to the room...which was a pain. And, we had friends we met up with and were disapointed not to have them up...as the room is so nice and large. But, if was a small hiccup.

Also, the wifi was not great. We were warned about this from reading Trip Advisory reviews...so my dissapointment was not as huge as it could have been. But there is a cafe down the street the San Geocomo that my computer worked great from.

Overall, we loved staying there. Loved the location. Loved the soft sheets and quiet location. And loved the yummy scent of Magnolia Bakery cupcakes that would waft through the air each morning and night.

Looking forward to going back.
