“The High Line, NYC Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

The park is a converted elevated train track and a wonderful addition to NYC. There are elevators so that it is accessible to all. I was fortunate to see it in its infancy, newly developed with young plantings. Later, as the plants flowered and flourished, art pieces were added. On my most recent visit, I discovered new art installations and thriving plants. It is in the last phase of completion, but it is ever-changing as an outdoor art exhibit and park.

“High in the sky”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

A brilliant, green use of old railroad tracks. On the high line, you feel you're in a calm, serene and beautiful place. Gardens, water to look at, good food, spots to lounge, sit and drink it all in. Hats off to its creators!

“You may never have heard of this...but you shouldn't miss it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

The High Line is an elevated walkway that used to be an elevated train track...walking the 1+ mile gives you a unique perspective of the city - you will see things you've never seen before - water towers, parking garages, public art, beautiful plants, and remarkable views that can't be seen from any other place. It ends (or begins) at Chelsea Market - another place that deserves your time. I've been to New York many times and had never been to the High Line or Chelsea Market - both highlights of this trip.

“Broken Elevator, no food vendors, nice views”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

Showers punctuated our stroll along the High Line but we were still able to enjoy the well-maintained plantings and the views. Sadly, it appears that late October is "out of season" despite the many tourists who were there so there was nowhere to get a coffee or snack without having to descend to the street and seek a restaurant or street vendor. We took the elevator to the High Line from street level at 14th street. Signs at the stairways down proudly proclaimed that there was an elevator at 23rd street. A sign on the 23rd street elevator stated that it was out of order due to damage from hurricane Sandy. COME ON! THAT WAS A YEAR AGO! Whoever is in charge needs a motivational kick in the pants. My partially disabled wife was faced with returning to 14th street or a major struggle to get down the steps back to the street.

“A wonderful escape in the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

Loved walking the High Line. It was early October and there were many flowers in bloom. Every section displayed new flowers or trees, highlighted by artwork along the way. A real oasis in the city, and out of the everyday hustle ,bustle and noise. It has been discovered and very popular. A great new attraction to add to the things worth visiting. Chelsea Market at the southern end was a great place to stop for coffee or lunch.
