What an excellent idea to turn an old disused raise railway line into an amazing lineal park. The lush green vegetation and colourful flowers are a lovely foil for this man made structure. As you walk along you catch glimpses of the old tracks which have been left in various places. We started our walk from one end of the park in the meat packing district of West Village and strolled along from there taking in interesting snap shot views of the Hudson River and of the streets below. My tip however would be to visit Chelsea Markets, located in the former factory of biscuit maker Nabisco and have breakfast or brunch and then alight the stairs nearby to the High Line and follow this unusual ribbon park northward towards the Chelsea district.
