“Great hotel, big rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

I really like this hotel. I've been here two times and I will probably come back. It's a design hotel, with very spacious rooms and a great bed, I think one of the best beds I've ever sleep in. Totally recommended.

Room Tip: Better to choose a top floor room, street can be a little bit noisy.

I arrived late on a Friday night and had a struggle getting into the hotel with all the revellers outside the door trying to get into the club at the ground level if the hotel
There were no doormen only security for the club so I had to then make my way to the 2nd floor to reception and given a room on the 16th floor which had a small balcony and great view of the city
The best thing about the hotel really
Won't be staying here again
Great if your in your 20's and want to party

My boyfriend and I stayed here last weekend from Saturday-Sunday and it was amazing! The staff was so kind and when we asked for places to grab a bite and some drinks, there recommendations were quick, close, and good! Our room was a corner king with great views of all the famous buildings of the city! I couldn't believe the views....night and day were great! The mini-bar was stocked to the brim and the bed was fabulous as we just sank right in and slept great! The bathroom was really cool as well! We had to use room service and they were on the ball with getting us whatever we needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel! The style is funky and different from a normal hotel, but it brings great appeal and a special, one of a kind touch to this great hotel! Definitely check it out!

It is hard to get more New York then the sleek and stylish Hotel on Rivington. From the initial opening of this high rise hotel's front door it gives example after example of why this independent hotel has the mundane chain hotels beat. The key to Hotel on Rivingtons success is simple but precise: Detail. Each inch of this hotel was planned to make your first visit turn into multiple future stays. The layout of the lobby, restaurant, and bar blends royal opulence and artistic uniqueness while remaining three separate and inviting locations to spend time, enjoy drinks, and entertain friends. The recurring theme of intricate detail comes through in each room to make your stay a jaw dropping one. The floor to ceiling glass windows wrapping around from bathroom to bedroom and walk out balcony provide a stunning view of the New York City skyline to include the Brooklyn Bridge, Freedom Tower, and Empire State Building. The huge steam room shower, fur draped couches, and temper-pedic bed makes leaving the Hotel on Rivington's rooms more and more difficult the longer you stay. But if a night in is what interests you, the detail spreads to the prompt concierge service, fully stocked (and I mean FULLY STOCKED) mini bar, as well as some naughty and intimate delights to spice up the night. All in all our stay @ Hotel on Rivington made a weekend trip to New York turn into the best adventure in the City that we have had to date. If you have any doubt you may want to re-read all of the above. Get to Hotel on Rivington, ask for Allison (the best), and enjoy a great all encompassing New York experience~

We have just spent 2 weeks staying at the Hotel on Rivington - had a fantastic time. The location is fantastic - close to everything we wanted to do, very close to the nearest subway. There is so much to do in the Lower East Side and you are walking distance for the East Village - another happening area.
The hotel was very comfortable - we had a high level King Room with a soaking tub - the room was a bit on the small side but it was very comfortable, the shower was one of the best showers I've ever had, not just the fact that you're looking out at Lower Manhattan while you're showering the pressure and temperature were fantastic.
The bed was ultra comfortable - loved the turn down service with snacks!!
The staff were very helpful if you needed anything.
Overall a very pleasant experience - I would go back again without hesitation.

This is not a 5-star hotel yet I felt like I got 5 star service and accommodation - or at least as good as it could be in this price range :) We were upgraded immediately to a king corner with Asian Soaking tub on request, and could not have been happier. 10th floor - floor to ceiling glass and lovely views of the urban jungle. Felt relatively new and modern. Could see both the Brooklyn Bridge and Empire State building! The bed so comfy - the bathroom AMAZING! there were glass walls - yet when you turn on the hot water it steams them up so there is no peep show. :) The soaking tub was so unique and fun. I filled it just half way and enjoyed a good hot soak after a lot of walking. Really made the stay complete. The common areas are dark, but I felt safe. There was a pool table, downstairs - cool hangout area. The breakfast was lovely though expensive in the first floor restaurant. We really felt this to be a unique NY experience and away from the tourist areas. AREA: Located in funky lower east side - walk to soho and little italy. the neighborhood on the east side of the hotel not so funky, in fact we got our bikes stolen off the back of the car when when left them for just an hour - locked, (against my judgement, but my friend insisted). However I would not say the neighborhood is dangerous - there are just expert thieves everywhere in New York so bring bikes in the room! or locked in car. Despite all this I had a wonderful stay at the Rivington!

Room Tip: higher floor for views and quiet
