Description: Down a short flight of stairs from the sidewalk, but worlds away from the bustle of Midtown Manhattan, Flûte Midtown operates in a space that was once a speakeasy run by the notorious Texas Guinan. Texas Guinan was infamous for her brazen disregard of Prohibition, her army of scantily clad showgirls, her witty catch-phrases and her string of New York nightclubs where writers, socialites and shady types rubbed elbows. Flûte Midtown’s speakeasy history is preserved in its subtle lighting, cocktail menu and honeycomb of intimate booths, and it continues the tradition of providing a haven to the chic, the literary, the night owls and those in-the-know. On the last Saturday of every month, Club Wit’s End brings the Jazz Age roaring back with live hot jazz and period apparel.

“Great spot for some bubbly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

Our daughter discovered Flute for us. It is a great little place for a break from the noise and bustle of Manhattan. You step off 54th street down into a dark and cozy area that can best be described as a "grotto," where all the seating areas are cordoned off and private to semi-private. The emphasis, as the name implies, is on Champagne and there are by-the-glass, flights and bottle (and magnum bottle) options. Prices are reasonable by Manhattan standards; four of us polished off a bottle of Veuve Cliquot Orange Label for $145. Great service by Mikky. Great little place for pre- or post-show break from the constant cacophony of Manhattan construction.

We are so glad you had a good visit to Flute Midtown and have passed your nice review on to Mikky and the rest of the team. Thank you for your business! I hope that we will get to see you at Flute Bar & Lounge again some time soon. “Cosy but pricey.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

This was a trendy/small wine and champagne bar which offered cosy seating areas and is often supported by live background music. On this occasion the music wasn't anything special but the atmosphere was very relaxing.

“Fabulous bar and experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2014

We contacted Flute and made a reservation before visiting New York. When we arrived at Flute the table that had been reserved for us was in a private booth, which was really nice. It was great to have that privacy as well as being able to people watch the other tables outside of our booth.
We can recommend the trio of tasters - I had a trio of royales (raspberry, pomegranate and violet) and my husband had a trio of champagne tasters. Both were delicious. The bellinis and cocktails are also very good. We ordered some snacks - which were also very good - we recommend the salmon plate. The service was prompt and efficient but not overly chatty or friendly, which is why we scored a 4 and not a 5.
All in all an extremely good experience and we would highly recommend this place.

“"An amazing night"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

Wanted to book a romantic spot for a proposal and was not dissapointed! Had contact with Flüte via the websites' contact form to explain the situation and got a reaction really quick. They sent me a floorplan and gave me a tip for the best seats.
Asked them to have a bottle of preffered champagne ready and this was no problem.

At arrival we were seated by a really nice lady from the staff and she brought the champagne instantly. After I popped the big question we got complementary delicious strawberries and chocolate. After the champagne we ordered some great and tasty mojito's.

All in all, a great place, nice staff and a very romantic location.

Will definitely be back!
