I stayed at the Westhouse Hotel with 3 girlfriends for the weekend. It was great that they allowed 4 adults in the room so that we could get the most out of our short time together. The staff at the hotel is really lovely. They were so helpful and considering that the hotel just opened they were well organized. The hotel is small but that is what adds to its charm. The location is ideal with the subway right outside the door and close walking proximity to so many things. The rooms were small but comfortable. Our beds were great and we all loved the pillows. The bathroom was very small, but new and pretty. The one big negative is the $30.00 resident fee that they tack onto your bill...that is $30.00 per person or in our case $120.00 per night. This fee includes a continental breakfast, drinks and cookies and sweets during the day, and drinks (yes alcohol) and bread and cheese in the evening. wifi is also included in this fee. First, breakfast was included in our initial reservation so that doesn't count. We were able to take full advantage of all of the other "freebies" but that was because the weather was terrible so we could not walk around as much as we had planned. We spent time sitting in the cozy lobby drinking wine and chatting so the $30.00 was worthwhile for us, but had the weather been nice it would have been a very costly surcharge. I wish that the hotel had just added this into the price or had notified us before we booked because this is a costly add-on. While we all loved the hotel, I would add this extra into the room price while I was looking for hotels because it really ups the nightly cost. Great hotel but expensive.
