“Beautiful hotel and fantastic service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

I stayed at the Westhouse Hotel with 3 girlfriends for the weekend. It was great that they allowed 4 adults in the room so that we could get the most out of our short time together. The staff at the hotel is really lovely. They were so helpful and considering that the hotel just opened they were well organized. The hotel is small but that is what adds to its charm. The location is ideal with the subway right outside the door and close walking proximity to so many things. The rooms were small but comfortable. Our beds were great and we all loved the pillows. The bathroom was very small, but new and pretty. The one big negative is the $30.00 resident fee that they tack onto your bill...that is $30.00 per person or in our case $120.00 per night. This fee includes a continental breakfast, drinks and cookies and sweets during the day, and drinks (yes alcohol) and bread and cheese in the evening. wifi is also included in this fee. First, breakfast was included in our initial reservation so that doesn't count. We were able to take full advantage of all of the other "freebies" but that was because the weather was terrible so we could not walk around as much as we had planned. We spent time sitting in the cozy lobby drinking wine and chatting so the $30.00 was worthwhile for us, but had the weather been nice it would have been a very costly surcharge. I wish that the hotel had just added this into the price or had notified us before we booked because this is a costly add-on. While we all loved the hotel, I would add this extra into the room price while I was looking for hotels because it really ups the nightly cost. Great hotel but expensive.

Hotel is very nice albeit very small. Staff was very friendly and helpful, hotel is beautifully decorated. The lobby area is nice but it is too small for breakfast and evening drinks. It gets really crowded with people not having a place to sit or set down their food.
Room was very nice but very small, would only recommend smallest room for single traveler.
The bathroom was tiny and there was only 1" between the door and the toilet, the bathroom was also beautifully decorated.
Location is very good, walking distance to most of the theaters as well as close to Time Warner Center/Columbus Circle.
Would recommended and come back only of the price is right. Do t forget to factor in the $30 per person per night charge into the cost.

Faarias, thank you for taking the time to review your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you found our team to be friendly and helpful. Thank you for your wonderful comments about our decor and location, in addition to your feedback regarding the Food & Beverage service.

I regret that the traffic in the Den made it uncomfortable for you on a few occasions when enjoying our Breakfast Presentation and Hours of Indulgence. We are working diligently to complete the Terrace located on the 23rd Floor, which will provide a much larger space for guests to enjoy our Food & Beverage selections.

We are humbled by your recommendation, and look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back in the near future!

From check-in to check-out, my wife and I were amazed by this wonderful hotel. Comfortable and hospitable, there was nothing missing - our only "complaint" was about the selection of music in the lounge... never really a complaint since the coffee / tea / breakfast and "Snack" service was superb! And, the staff couldn't have been nicer. We are telling everyone that if they are planning a NYC get-away they have to stay at Westhouse - we'll be back!

I just stayed at the Westhouse Hotel last week. The experience was excellent. The hip new boutique hotel is well designed and the staff were very helpful and courteous. They thought of the little things, like having a cut out in the shower glass to reach in and turn the water on so you don't get sprayed and a large heated mirror in the show to shave.

The reasonable "resort fee" of $30 per night more than covered beer, wine and snacks in the lobby lounge.

Overall it's a great value and the location is perfect for business meetings and attending the theater.

Room Tip: My room was a good size with all the amenities. It had good natural light with three large windows.

JCOsborne, thank you for your fabulous review! It was truly our pleasure to provide you with an exceptional level of service, paying close attention to the fine details of your stay. At WestHouse we place great focus on anticipating our guests' needs which in turn allows us to exceed their expectations. I am thrilled to hear that this practice was especially true with your expressed enjoyment of our cut-outs in the glass shower and the anti-fog mirror. It is rewarding to hear that you found great value in the Resident Fee and in your overall stay. We look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back soon!

As we often do, my wife and I escaped Mardi Gras to spend 4 nights in Manhattan, luckily at the WestHouse. The hotel was nearing the end of a several month shakedown cruise after a beautiful renovation. Whoever selected and trained this young staff did an amazing job. We were pleased but not surprised at their enthusiasm; but we were floored by their polish, attentiveness and attention to detail. We've already decided to return here on our next trip from the Big Easy to the Big Apple.

All the great reviews are true. Best place in mid town for a reasonably priced stay. Could not have been lovelier!!!

We loved the Den for tea service and breakfast. We loved the kindness and courtesy of all the staff and the rooms were bigger than the average Manhattan hotel.

You won't be disappointed. Stay here!!!

I stayed at the WestHouse while in NYC for work and had a wonderful stay at this newly opened hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful, upbeat, and polite, and always seemed eager to assist guests. The room was comfortable and elegant, and the downstairs lobby was a great place to relax. The hotel is central but feels like a separate world. I will definitely stay here again.
