Description: Grand Central Oyster Bar is the ultimate experience for any seafood. Lover. From the market to your plate, we've spent nearly a hundred years perfecting our seafood dishes. Every morning, the chef goes to the New Fulton Fish Market to personally pick the day's freshest seafood. Everything from lobster to different kinds of fish is hand-picked for the best flavor and freshness. We're most famous for our oysters though, with over 30 different varieties on any given day. Have your dishes prepared minimally, or choose to have your meal in the form of a po' boy. Whatever floats your boat. To go with your Oysters, our extensive wine list has over 400 wines by the glass or bottle, 55 of which are priced under $38. We love sharing our great seafood, so we like to keep everything, including our prices, accessible. Come in for our Happy Hours (menu on website), where you and your friends can pick up some fresh food and drinks at prices so good it's fishy! Across our restaurant we have more than 450 tables across two dining rooms. Traditional experiences are supplemented by our saloon, which features a large bar. Instead, you could choose to sit at Oyster Bay, where you can watch your Oysters being shucked. The Grand Central Oyster Bar has always been a social experience, bustling with buzz, activity and a rich history. There is truly nowhere else like it!

“Favourite place to eat in NYC so far!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2013 via mobile

A friend lives here and recommended this to us as it's popular with locals. Such a great atmosphere and the staff were all helpful and very friendly. It's a loud and fun environment, so if you're looking for a quiet romantic evening this might not be for you but I loved it!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2013

Thats 5 Stars folks and I'd give them 6 if I could. We loved the beautiful restaurant, fabulous waiter, and FRESH seafood. Start your meal with an Oyster Shooter! We will eat there every visit to New York City. Very conveniently located in Grand Central!

“Great location average food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013

Great location and grand central station is a must for anyone's trip to NYC. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy but you pay a premium for the location. Oysters were good but mains were average at best . Great choice of fish on the menu but service was slow and a smile goes a long way. I'm glad as a family we went but I don't think we will be having a return trip

“Sea Food +”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2013

If you like fish it all it's variations then this is the place for you. Not much on the menu if you don't. Large and lively it represents a great New York night out. Don't expect 5* dining but want great fish dishes well cooked in a lively and interesting atmosphere then give it a try

“Classic Spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

This restaurant has an excellent and diverse seafood menu. It is located inside Grand Central Station and the decor is in keeping with the larger building...not exactly art deco, but of that era. The red and white check table clothes and attentive waiters make it a pleasant place to dine. It is a bit crowded and noisy, but that is just part of being in New York. We had soup and a sandwich and one drink and with the tip our bill was $75. That is what I would consider average for a normal, not fancy, restaurant in Manhattan. It was a nice place and we'd go back again.
