Described as “imaginative” by New York Magazine, the 300 seat space and approachable Pan-Asian cuisine is perfect for dinner pre or post show, lunch with clients, brunch with kids, private parties, and any other occasion imaginable. People watch at a Broadway-facing table over pad thai, sample some of the best rolls in the neighborhood at the 20-seat sushi bar, share assorted dim sum at a banquet and finish with a Dessert Bento Box. Tight on time? Take freshly-baked theater treats like Chocolate Chip Cookies and Caramel Popcorn to go. Or, get sushi and dim sum delivered to your door!

“Great location but there are much better places to eat in Times Square”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2009

My wife and I came here for a pre-Broadway show dinner. It's location makes it great for grabbing a quick meal before a show but other than that, the restaurant was overpriced and underwhelming. Their menu offers sushi with an asian fusion cuisine, but it is by no means gourmet dining. The tables are very close together and it felt somewhat awkward eating that close to others. The sushi is overpriced and there are much better places for sushi in the area. Would not go again.

“Ruby's is for sharing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2009

If you go away hungry you didn't order enough. Took my wife and daughters and it was a dim sun feeding frenzy. They lost our reservation but recovered well enough for us to make our show. Yes it's touristy, but that's part of the fun. I understand the uptown loacation offers a better experience.

“You'll Leave Hungry”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2008

I knew this place would be touristy and the food not likely exceptional since it's in the middle of Times Square, but I wasn't prepared to spend $60 + tip and leave hungry. There were two of us eating - a small woman and average sized man.

The service was great. We were seated quickly without a reservation and the restaurant itself is much larger than it appears from the street. Our waitress gave us a nice introduction to the menu and suggested we share an entree or two family style along with some sushi and appetizers. Once we ordered our waitress assured us we would have plenty.

We ordered the dim sum sampler which was oversteamed and slightly soggy, but had good flavor. We also had two sushi rolls - excellent - and the stir-fried filet mignon with noodles. The entree contained about three pieces of steak and they were so small that I'm not sure if it was filet or sirloin. The flavor tasted like basic stir-fry that you can get at Chinese food buffets.

At that point we were still hungry, but decided our money would be better spent getting a tasty gyro from the street vendors.

I will not be back.
