Description: Ruby Foo’s brings the bold flavors of Beijing, Bangkok and Tokyo to Times Square in a big-box setting that is as boisterous as it Broadway neighborhood. Described as “imaginative” by New York Magazine, the 300 seat space and approachable Pan-Asian cuisine is perfect for dinner pre or post show, lunch with clients, brunch with kids, private parties, and any other occasion imaginable. People watch at a Broadway-facing table over pad thai, sample some of the best rolls in the neighborhood at the 20-seat sushi bar, share assorted dim sum at a banquet and finish with a Dessert Bento Box. Tight on time? Take freshly-baked theater treats like Chocolate Chip Cookies and Caramel Popcorn to go. Or, get sushi and dim sum delivered to your door!

“Very Good and Accessible”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2008

We wanted to find a decent place to eat before a Broadway Saturday matinee in Times Sq. and one that was convenient to the tehater. We were amazed that we could get a reservation that day for lunch -- our usual, Carmines (5 star, excellent) , is typically booked months ahead of time at this busy hour of pre-theater goers. When we entered, we noticed the place was almost empty -- we thought that was a bad omen compared to the waiting lines at other area restaurants. I'm happy to report that we all enjoyed our meal at Ruby Foo's. Like another reviewer, we were disappointed at the limited menu there - hoping to find more of our favorites and a greater variety. That being said, we all enjoyed what we ordered and found the food to be ample in quantity, fresh and tasty. The mango sorbet for dessert was great. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. We would be happy to return for another meal when we find ourselves in Times Square again.

“Really nice lunch, but prepare to spend!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2008

We visited this restaurant over the weekend because we knew we would be in this area around lunch time. I refuse to eat at a chain restaurant (TGI Fridays, etc) while traveling and this seemed the best choice. The atmosphere is really cool, very ornate. Our waiter was very friendly and the food was served quickly. My husband and I shared the dim sum sampler and then split an order of 3 assorted rolls. They were both very good. I was suprised to see real crabmeat in the rolls, in PA they usually (always) use the processed in the california rolls, etc. My daughter (7) and her friend (11) got wonton soup (huge bowl, tasty dumplings with noodles and fresh cilantro) and just steamed rice and lo mein noodles on the side. They do have a kids menu, both girls enjoyed their lunch.
Overall it was a good choice, however, our meal with 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine was $117 before tip. I would recommend a visit!

This is a very lively restaurant with a great atmosphere. The Asian-fusion style cuisine is creative and tasty. The waitstaff is quite knowledgable with the large and rich menu and provides complete service. However, I found their attempts at suggestive selling a bit overwhelming.
