“Good Hero”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Just enjoyed a Veal Parm hero. Two good sized slices of veal Parm, recently cooked and served on a 6 inch Italian roll with sauce, a bit expensive but it is NewYork City. Served with homemade potato chips.

It's on 9th Avenue between 38 and 37th Streets.

The family also owned a restaurant next door but thru in family fighting, they closed and it's now an Italian restaurant under a different name.

It's good and convenient if you're in the area but I wouldn't go,out of my way just to eat here.

“Used to be the Best Chicken Parmigiana Hero in the World!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Although I still love the Chicken Parm heros made at Hero Boy, something changed since they stopped packaging them in the tinfoil bags and pack them instead in the clear plastic serving boxes. It's still the best Chicken Parm, but it lost a little something. They still make the the best Rice Balls in my opinion because the don't put peas or sauce in the middle of them. Anyone going there and ordering the pasta dishes or other things will be disappointed. I mean, you are in Manhattan where you will probably find the best Italian restaurants in the entire world. Hero Boy is where you go to get a Hero or a Grinder or a Submarine, or whatever else you may call it. If you want fine Italian Cuisine, go somewhere else.

“Excellant hero”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

They catered our super ball party with various hero's and finally i was able to walk over and get myself a meatball hero with chips. Plenty of seats and it was about $9.The food is ready and they put your sandwich together within a few minutes.

“Invented the six foot hero.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2012

This is a very historical place, even though the digs are new. I like the meatball hero with cheese, but it is all great, very authentic.
