“What a great breakfast surprise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2012

Very reasonably priced and very good food. A nice option if you are staying at the Hilton or Sheraton Hotel and Towers nearby. Ate there twice over the snowy weekend. Don't miss the scones and fresh fruit!

“Excellent value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

Terrific atmosphere and wonderful food at a reasonable price for NYC. If you like pate (and they serve a fine one), check out the farmer's plate. You won't be sorry.

“Always Perfect for the past 20 years!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2011

RESTAURANT:
Lou’s Café
1301 6th Ave.
New York, NY 10019

Lou’s Café is my favorite restaurant in the world, without question. The ethereal atmosphere, the decadent desserts, the incredibly reasonable prices, the warm and courteous staff, the palate-pleasing meals: it all adds up to an amazing restaurant experience. I first experienced Lou’s back in the 90s when I was staying across the street at the Hilton for a trade show. Lou’s has stood the test of time – and in New York City – that’s one heck of an accomplishment, and well-deserved.

I totally cheated on my wheat-free diet and had the Tower of Bagel. David had his favorite, the lemon linguine with smoked salmon. They were both awesome, as usual. Mine came with a salad drizzled with their citrus house dressing – so much food that I had to share. Although we were full, we couldn’t resist a Lou’s dessert and went with the tiramisu. It was the first time I’d had that and oh my, it was like eating a creamy, coffee-flavored slice of heaven.

If you have the good fortune to make it to Lou’s, which is just down the street from Rockefeller Plaza, don’t limit yourself to lunch or dinner. They have fantastic breakfasts, too.

“Nice breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2010

Breakfast at Lou's was nice. Great food - we had waffles with granola, honey and strawberries - which was lovely - as well as croissants and coffee. The service was disappointing, it was slow, and the waiting staff couldn't tell the difference between a Latte and a Chocalacino. The cost certainly wasn't justified by the staff, just by what came out of the kitchens. Overall though, for a (relatively) quick breakfast Lou's was great.
