First time ever I've been told by a waitress that she had 'never had such customers', well I can truly say I've never had such a waitress!.....

“Food fine but dreadful, poor, rude & unacceptable service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

Dinned here last Saturday 26th October having been recommended by a friend. I Arrived with 7 friends (having booked in advance) after a great day out.
We enjoyed watching the Pizza chef making the Pizzas and looked forward to our meal...... however....
The waitress got our order wrong (a basic order of 8 starters and 8 mains) and some of the mains arrived before the starters at which point the waitress was incredibly rude to us!
It has to be said that another member of staff (I presume the manager) was also incredibly rude to her in full view and hearing of the restaurant which wasn't professional or pleasant.
We were then treated to more complete and utter rudeness from her and then served 2 Pizzas that had been re-heated and burnt totally black round the edges!
There are many other restaurants around this area so I would advise you pick another one!

“Wonderful pizza, friendly italian-style service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

Called in for lunch and to escape the rain. Their small pizza on thin crust is still quite large so the two of us decided to share one. We chose the "Messina" (chicken, sundried tomatoes, spinach, smoked mozzarella) for $12.95 and it was absolutely delicious. We shared a house salad ($7.95) first and had a very satisfying meal. Service friendly and unhurried. Shall definitely go there again.

If you're looking for a good Italian meal, reasonable priced and within an easy walk to Broadway theaters, this is the place to go.

“Good Food and Outdoor Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

Had a very good dinner here on a beautiful summer evening last week. Sat at the outdoor dining area, in front of the restaurant. The food was excellent, as was the service. Very nice atmosphere in a fairly upscale "artsy" neighborhood- with one minor drawback- unfortunate that some of the neighbors with pets don't have much common sense- many seem oblivious to the restaurant- while walking their beautiful, well-groomed and manicured dogs past the outdoor cafe (and chatting on cellphones)- they let their pets relieve themselves on the sidewalk while people are dining. I love dogs as much as anyone and understand that they have to take care of business- but really- on a sidewalk in front of an outdoor restaurant? Sorry, I digress a little- this really is no reflection on the restaurant- just a little commentary about the neighborhood. I guess money can't buy class. I will definitely return to Don Giovanni's to enjoy another fabulous dinner, but will probably sit indoors next time. By the way- very reasonable prices and fair portions here.
