“The very best in NY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

So far, the Eleven Madison Park, is the very best meal we had in New York.

The place is not as beatifullas the Per Se, bur the food is even better.

They realy deserved being elevated in the World´s 50 best Restaurants ranking.

And, this is not a major issue for many people, but I have to mention: the prices are very good for such a great restaurant.

Don´t forget to book a table next time you go to NY.

“Mixed reviews, high theater and camp rolled in $$$$$”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

For a one time tryout this is ok but consider it very pricey at 600$ for lunch for two with one glass each. We were prepared to be entertained. The little tiny portions were well presented and nicely done, all 15 of them but you do not leave feeling like you've eaten well...just had some fun. Noteworthy were the surf clam with fava bean foam, the duck roasted (a real slice of breast meat, one inch thick) then a bit of cheese in a picnic basket with beer, a very sweet malted drink, a truly elegant bracelet of mint sorbet, fresh, not sweet, and all herb....great. About where it started to get campy. Oh well.the meal takes 3.5 hours and its nice theater. About the same price as best seatsat the Met opera. two hours later, and I am hungry, need some chinese take out.....its NYC

“Extra special!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

This is definitely a worth booking if you are a 'foodie' or looking for something extra special. Each course took you through a journey of different tastes, perfectly presented and the waiter explained each of the adventurously combined ingredients. Don't go here if you are on a budget or you will have a nasty surprise in the shape of a bill at the end of the night and you really can't be too concerned with the price if you plan on coming here as it's really all about the combined experience.

The restaurant itself is beautifully designed; we arrived at 8.30pm and didn't even realise that it was 12.45am when we left! I have never spent that long in a restaurant before. The cocktails were also delicious.

the only negative thing I would say is that we noticed that after we had paid, the head waiter's mood changed slightly and he was not so much the charming person who had served us all night, but he became slightly reserved and a little pushy at the end. I can only assume that this is because we only left a $110 tip which I must say, is more than generous, considering the total bill including tip was just under $900. Tipping should be discretionary and you should definitely not be made to feel bad about leaving a tip of your choice. This was literally my only negative about the evening. Aside from that, it was perfect.

“We'll be back soon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013 via mobile

Writing a review about an experience like Eleven Madison Park is tricky because like writing a movie review one doesn't want to give away too much. It's truly a dining experience to go into somewhat unawares so as to be left surprised with each new course.
My partner and I went for lunch on a Thursday. It's a gorgeous space consisting of a large room with 35-ft ceilings and expanse of windows. There is also a bar area where an a la carte menu is served and I plan to return there. Everyone on staff is pleasant and for an expensive famous restaurant no snobbery could be detected. We were seated at a table that was quite large so there was plenty of room for what was ahead.
There's a cadre of servers and also a sommelier who was helpful and did not bat an eye as I guided her down to less expensive selections. The 15 courses were well paced and uniformly delicious with a standout (best ever) dry aged roasted duck as the "main" and an amusing slight of hand as the ending.
It is very expensive (we spent $1000) however we drank a lot as well - if one chose even less expensive selections (or for that matter I think the wine pairings would have come out to be less) then the bill would be expensive but not crazy.
We will be back - there's plenty of room at the bar.

“Wow wow wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

Restaurant :
Eleven Madison Park

Ambience :
Airy with high soaring windows facing the Madison Gardens.

Service :
This is a very polished act. All the staff walked tall with poise like on a catwalk
and in a prescribed designated route round the restaurant. No criss-crossing of
staff, no excuse me, no bumping into each other. Like cheoreography. Glasses are
never allowed to be empty, plates and cutlery are cleared promptly after every
course andvtables arecswrpt clean and table libebs are ironed straight without any
creases befire the next seating. Knowledgeable and all if them are part of a cast
on a broadway show. All know their roles and parts to play in a well rehearsed
polished act.

Food :
Dinner started at 545pm comprising the tasting menu. For the seamless assembly like
precision, we realised tge restaurant will space out the reservations from 5pm to
10pm to prevent any jamming of any one particular course amongst the 16/17 courses
concurrently running in the kitchen.

We finally finishef at 930pm, a feast of a broadway act if 4 hrs. This is a
culinary magic show of 16, 17 courses of food that is well balanced and meant to wow
with every course, whether how it is imagined, or how it is presented or how the
exquisite taste is allowed to explode in your mouth as designed. The food and
service is above Per Se and far far above Daniel (boring old wprld stuff) or Gordon
Ramsays (waste of our time, name and his name).

Conclusion :
This is one of the best restaurants in the world. The food and theatrics are
creative and well orchestrated. Nothing is left to chance. The days where good food
and stiff service are hallmarks of a 3 star restaurant like daniel are over. The new
art noveau cusibe of combining flavours andvtextures into magical morsels are the
new definition of forward thinking food. And with it, service that is polished and
yet warm at heart will ensure many fans. Just like the cast of a successful broadway
show pushing boundarues wuth their singing and acting every night, and yet able to
identify and engage the audience, then that is a sure long-time winner.
