“The real pizza in New York”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012 via mobile

It is not easy to fine a good pizza around the world, but in New York you can surely find it in this restaurant. They belong to a group of people who created a sort of code of making pizza that must be followed around the world regardless the location. In this way, the taste and quality of the pizza is guaranteed. And I can tell you that the pizza we had tonight was far much better than many pizza we normally have in Italy.

“Best pizza in NY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012 via mobile

It takes more than 30 minites (an hour on busy days) to get your pizza but it's worth it!
Try the pizza fresca: really delicious!

“Comfy place and a nice crowd”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2011

On our way home, me and my friend decided to stop buy at any cozy place we have never been before on 20th street. Homely and innocent La Pizza Fresca allured as inside.

La Pizza Fresca doesn’t have a full bar, but impresses with a good selection of wine. We followed the “advice” of the menu and picked “tre portate” each. An order of dumplings, followed by mezzi rigatoni con polpettine, and a well-cooked bass were too much for me. The food is good but salty. Fresh tiramisu was over powdered.

However, next time will be back for an authentic pizza.

“Poor Service, Quantity and Management”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2011

We were visiting New York for a week and have been to a few restaurants during that time. This sure was an all-time low. We arrived around 6.30 and after we were appointed seats we were told that the so called pizza chef had not arrived yet. So, no pizza's. While looking at the menu we noticed that they did have quite a range of different pastas, and decided to stay.

The pastas appeared to be made by the same chef. In the end it turned out that out of the 20-25 options, only 5 or so remained to choose from. We still decided to give it a go, since it was highly recommended by our guidebook (i think it was a Dutch lonely planet). Which we shouldn't have. The waitresses seemed uninterested, the food was scarce (9 pieces of ravioli) and overpriced (for $23,-) but tasted good, no pizza's served before eight o' clock. And as soon as pizza's were served out (to other customers) they came back because they were burnt...

Management should step in and do something about this. Horrible. Not recommended. I repeat: NOT Recommended.

“Nice atmosphere, not that touristy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2011

Small and cosy restaurant. Good prices&portions. The rucola salad was perfect just with oil, vinegar and parmisan cheese. The risotto with asparagus was great. I had half of a portion which was enough for me after the salad. As a dessert I had Tiramisu, really good!!! I had a great evening in this restaurant
