“Wonderful!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

Il corso has very high quality food and service. But when we inquired about gluten free desserts they didn't come back. We had to request our waiter to come back! But it was delicious and I would go back in a heartbeat! Expensive tho!

“Great Italian food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

We stayed at the Shoreham hotel, right across the street from Il Corso. Henry from the hotel recommended it... And he was right!!!
One of the best Italian restaurant in NYC.
We went there everyday, for a week... My friend had always the same thing to eat - PROSCIUTTO DI PARMA with Mozzarella (I guess it was really good), and I tried a new and different pasta every time --
CHITARRUCCI ALL'ASTICE
ORECCHIETTE CON SALSICCIA
FETTUCCINE ALLA BOLOGNESE
LASAGNE ALL'EMILIANA
TAGLIOLINI FUNGHI E SPECK
...
Well - 7 different pasta dishes - all fresh, home made, and each and every one of them was superb!
Oh, the desserts were really good too...
Highly recommended!

“Similar to a trattoria in Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

This place was recommended to me by a coworker who often travels to NYC. It was the perfect neighborhood find off the beaten path of Midtown/Times Square. Great service, great ambiance and great food! Very cozy feel that reminds me of a Northern Italian trattoria. I had the gnocci and a gorgonzola salad. Both were outstanding. The restaurant was filled with locals - one couple was celebrating an anniversary, another larger group was celebrating a birthday...this is the place where New Yorkers go for a moderate priced special occasion dinner. I can see why.

“Cozy Italian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

Cozy Italian place. Narrow with nice homey feel. Very good service. Fresh pasta was excellent as was the puréed zucchini soup. The lasagne was authentic with rich flavors. The pasta bolognese had a nice meatiness to it. This is the real deal and not some place that just tries to grab tourists money.

“ALWAYS Great !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

I eat at Il Corso so much my collegues and friends call it "Of Courso". The staff is friendly and professional and the food is amazing. Last night (01/30/13) started with small lightly fried fish fillets on a bed of sauteed ecarole - delicious and light...complemented by a nice crisp vermentino recommended by Alex, our waiter (who has become a great friend). My dining companion skipped a first course but ordered ravioli with ricotta and goat cheese with a light cream sauce...so delicious and filling that I was able to sample several. My main course was braised beef rib, kinda like short ribs, but much larger ribs. Came with a three peppercorn sauce...again delicious. I recommend Il Corso to anyone who wants a great, truely Italian meal with a friendly staff...Alex and Carlos will take great care of you!!! The place is small and can sometimes get loud...like nearly any great restaurant in NYC. Not cheap...but a good value in this area, for this caliber of food.
