“Fabulous Italian Food in the heart of NYC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

If you are looking for a great Italian restaurant with delicious food, great service, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and reasonable prices, right in midtown Manhattan's Theater District, this is the place!! I called the restaurant to make a last minute reservation for two people on a Thursday night at 8:30pm, and the host said, "Come right over. We have a table and we can seat you right away". When we arrived, the restaurant was busy, but the staff had held a table for two for us, and we were seated right away, just as they had promised.

We ordered their signature dish - the black, squid ink pasta with seafood, and it was amazing. We also ordered the Antipasto Classico for 2 people, which was a hot antipasto dish with seafood and eggplant in a delicious marinara cream sauce. The shrimp in that dish was the best shrimp that I have had in a long while. The bread that was placed on the table is freshly baked and served warm with butter and also olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Our waiter suggested the Tiramisu for dessert, which was fantastic. I suggest that you save room for dessert, as it is well worth it!

This is my new favorite Italian restaurant in NYC. The dishes were a good size, so we shared our entree and were completely "full". Our dinner tab with 3 drinks - 2 glasses of wine and one martini - and tip was just shy of $100! That is quite a deal for a great dinner in the Theater District for two people. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone - business, date night, out with friends or out with family.

We stopped in here for lunch one Saturday. Food was delicious and reasonable. Great friendly staff who were able to reel off every special available down to the last detail. Would definitely go back

“Great after a Broadway Show.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

3.5. Authentic and friendly, we stopping in after a show Sunday night and the place empty. We happened to close down the restaurant, and the services was still very nice and the food was very good. The menus seemed looked simple and classic, and everything tasted fresh and carefully prepared.

“Forgettable Italian”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

A convenient Times Square/Theatre District location but don't go expecting great Italian food. Or the best service. Or a lot of ambiance. This is a move 'em in, move 'em out kind of place. They are just interested in turning over the tables.

On the plus side a reasonable priced wine list by the glass & bottle for MIdtown.

“Not impressed!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

On a recommendation we tried this place and were very dissapointed.
The atmosphere was nice, very New York, loved it.
Service was poor. I had to ask what the specials were because the waiter forget to tell me.
The food came out way too fast and was luke warm at best. It was very bland and they were very greedy with the grated cheese.
We were charged more than the menu price for our entrees.
Too many choices in the theater district. For Italian, Carmines is the better value and better food, not to mention better service.
