“Quality Food and Laid-back Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

I've been here twice for dinner with friends. Both times we were greeted by a friendly waitress/waiter and quickly seated. The restaurant is dim enough for romance but casual enough for good/loud conversation.

Their club sandwich is huge and delicious! Also their garlic mashed potatoes (a side dish) is extremely well-made: fluffy and nicely seasoned. I also ordered the sangria, which was good, but tasted like red wine. People who like red wine will probably appreciate the sangria more than me.

Tip: If you're not that hungry, just order a side dish and drink. I was surprised by the larger-than-expected size of my mashed potatoes. Or order a sandwich and eat half of it.

The only con I can think of is getting the check can be a wait. Both times we had to stare at our waiter to get him to notice us lol.

“Good casual place to eat”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

We had a late dinner here after arriving in NYC and checking into our hotel nearby. The restaurant is small, with outside seating right up to the sidewalk. We were seated next to the low fence, so people walk right by the table on the sidewalk next to you and we were able to people watch as people were out for an evening stroll with their dogs, etc. We did have one man come by and preach to everyone at the outside tables about salvation. The food was typical American fare and I had a salad that was pretty good. Our server was really attentive and friendly, as well.

“Good service, good food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

Found this small restaurant/bar near Columbia University while strolling in the neighborhood. Had brunch, which included Eggwich with mesclun salad and vegetable quiche with Cesar salad. Service was friendly, food hot and tasty, but server didn't offer a second round of coffee until we were ready to leave. Overall recommendable.

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2011

12 of us went to Sunday Brunch at Toast and had a variety of breakfast entrees. It was wonderful. French Toast, Eggs Benedict, the Quiche all had rave reviews. Would definately go back. By NYC standards the prices were great. (We were not drinking but they had a nice selection of microbrews that would be nice to try next time)
