Description: Le Colonial is a truly delightful culinary experience. Like stepping into French Colonial Southeast Asia, this two-story restaurant, designed by Greg Jordan, consists of a main dining room with louvered wall panels, colorful tile floors, and vintage photos of Vietnam. Upstairs is an elegant, but lively, lounge serving a full dinner or just appetizers and cocktails. The lounge serves as an ideal setting for private parties and business dinners. Chef Ron Hsu serves an authentic Vietnamese menu with an emphasis on fresh seafood, meats, and vegetables.

“Nice Surroundings, Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

Was curious to visit given the mixed reviews, particularly on some of the US restaurant sites.

Beautiful surroundings (we chose the upstairs eating area; dark but quieter than the main restaurant) in keeping with the colonial theme.

As somebody who spends several months a year traveling in Asia, I reckon the food was pretty good, compared to normal Westernised fare. Try the Aubergine for starters.

Service was a little hit and miss; staff not particularly friendly or attentive, but that was fine as I prefer not to be disturbed every five minutes.

Not cheap, but reasonable for quality of food and surroundings.

“Great dish. I'm still thinking of it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

Cozy place. I had the filet mignon with roasted yams and Asian long beans in a spicy sate sauce. It was so good that I managed to get every mouthful of sauce onto my fork. The manager was very friendly.

“Southasian treat”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

This one was hard to rate since some dishes were really quite good, but others, sadly, we're what you'd get in a food court at the mall. Ambiance is delightful but service, while polished, was a bit too rushed (Your plate is whisked away the moment you put your fork down).

“Cue setting and average quality of fairly good food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

The location is ideal, unfortunately, it is a bit noisy and due to the popularity of it's location, the management has not paid enough attention to the quality of the food and service. With a bit of effort, it could be a destination.
