“Consistent quality of food and service over many years”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

My wife and I had a late lunch here on a Sunday. I've eaten here before a number of times on business over the last decade and it is the consistency of the establishment that I appreciate. There are not a great number of restaurant options in this part of New York. It has a slightly London club atmosphere and the service was generally very good. The portions are massive but perhaps lacking a little in seasoning and presentation. The vegetables on the side were over-cooked. The menu is diverse, perhaps too much so. In general the prices match the quality of food and service though there are some expensive dishes and the wine list is rather pricey, at least to European eyes.

Would I travel across Manhattan just to eat here? Probably not, but if I was within a 10 minute walk then I'd certainly do so, especially if I was hungry. It's just across the road from the Sheraton Hotel on 7th Avenue.

“Consistently Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014

Each time I've visited this restaurant, I can honestly say the food was okay. Was the food extraordinary, probably not but it was good. The atmosphere is a little higher class feeling. The wait staff is very attentive. If you go thru the bar area, you will notice a bar full of gentlemen there drinking and wearing suits. This atmosphere is typical for this establishment. Be sure to try the dessert. Although the portions are small, they're worth it to sample the desserts.

“Insult to fish calling this a fish restaurant”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2014

We got a nice table and looked forward to a pleasant evening at this restaurant which we had chosen because it was a fish restaurant.
We order a a seafood plate with lobster oyster etc. The whole thing was at best tasteless. The crackers was actually the only thing that was eatable. Even the bread was moist and cold as you would expect if frozen bread was defrosted too quick.
When we polity explained that this was not even close to being good the service turned sour.
I had invited my daughter to New York and must admit that at this price level the whole thing was very sad for the industry supposed to be at a high standard.

“Irish bar”

Great bar with TV screens showing all sports. Husband and son in law in their element. Food was great and plenty of it. Good selection.
