My wife and I had a late lunch here on a Sunday. I've eaten here before a number of times on business over the last decade and it is the consistency of the establishment that I appreciate. There are not a great number of restaurant options in this part of New York. It has a slightly London club atmosphere and the service was generally very good. The portions are massive but perhaps lacking a little in seasoning and presentation. The vegetables on the side were over-cooked. The menu is diverse, perhaps too much so. In general the prices match the quality of food and service though there are some expensive dishes and the wine list is rather pricey, at least to European eyes.
Would I travel across Manhattan just to eat here? Probably not, but if I was within a 10 minute walk then I'd certainly do so, especially if I was hungry. It's just across the road from the Sheraton Hotel on 7th Avenue.
