“Charming Italian Restaurant in Little Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We visited NYC earlier this month from Chicago. Our Italian food is hard to beat. Da Nico is our relative who lives here in NYC's favorite Italian restaurant. Now we see why! Six of us had dinner on a Wednesday night. The place filled up more the later it got. We all loved our dishes. They didn't rush us and we were there a couple of hours at least. None of us were drinking alcohol either. Some restaurants kind of rush you out if you aren't drinking. Loved the atmosphere. I thought it was very reasonable for New York prices. Hope to come back in nice weather and sit outside.

“Great Italian joint in Little Italy.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Get the lobster and seafood pasta (al diavlo) or the stuffed veal if on the menu. A great option if you're in the mood for a nice big Italian dinner.

“Can't find a fault”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013 via mobile

Recently on honeymoon and accompanied by our Bridesmaid and Groomsman, we stumbled upon this little gem, while walking around little Italy.

We were welcomed, right from the very beginning and by every member of staff in the place, seated with the waiter right away.

The decor was plain and in keeping with the rest of the resturant, which had an Italian American theme.

Food was excellent for the price and I'm somewhat perplexed by other reviews on TA, saying that the food was ok? If you want fine Italian dining, yer in the wrong place!!

The waiting staff couldn't have been better but I think that if you engage with the staff anywhere ( not just here) on their level then the service is always better.

We all had a nice meal, great wine recommendations also by the guys, to accompany and compliment the particular plate.

All in all, I would have no hesitation in recommending Da Nico's to anyone who wants nice Italian food for a reasonable price with decent service. Well done guys

“Definitely coming back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

I ate here for my birthday and was really surprised at how much I liked it. It was a slow Monday night so we didn't have to worry about waiting. The atmosphere is semi dark and cozy. I ordered a bottle of Lambrusco and had the gnocchi napolenta. Both were very good and since the waiter heard it was my birthday, he surprised me with zeppoli and fresh fruit. I had a really nice quiet and pleasant birthday here.

“Very average italian food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

Dificult to make a choice in Little italy. So we relied on our shortlist (webdites inspired) and a glance at the menus (price and choice).
If the waiters and decorating are welcoming, the food was finally very average.  Too salty and not that tasty. Not what you excpect from an italian restaurant in the middle of Little Italy.
If you want good italian food, go to Italy or buy a cook book.
