“Sublime”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

We went here for a special meal, and this is exactly what the place is for. We're lucky to have dined at many great restaurants, and whilst we knew this was going to be an expensive treat, it was worth it. Staff were so nice, and not at all snooty, they really made you relax. Pre diner cocktails were sublime and the food was out of this world. The cheese trolley was so divine. A really great, relaxing experience. It will cost, and my advice would be to 'go for it' and get the coctail, desert wine etc, make the most of a special experience.

“As wonderful as everyone says”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

We went at 5:30 to accomodate and 8 pm show. It was so lovely and quiet and we took advantage of the early dinner with wine pairings. The staff is wonderful and elegant without being snobby or stuffy. The food, naturally, was fabulous. It was a very special place

“Disappointed and memorable for the wrong reasons”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Being a 3 Michelin star restaurant, we were quite disappointed by the experience. The atmosphere was indeed a little too stiff and even though it stipulated that gentlemen should have a jacket for dinner service, it was a bit much for them to request that I put my jacket back on when i took it off during our meal as the room was just a tad too warm. That aside, the biggest disappointment was indeed the food. I thought it was just me but my wife, did not want to say it at first, really was thinking the same. We had the 3 course meal and we chose the Black sea bass (under recommendation of the wait staff) and the Duo of beef (a signature dish of the establishment). The flavour of the black sea bass was too fussy and really overpowered the fish, leaving little but the red wine sauce. The duo beef, the Wagyu beef although well prepared, in contrast lacked flavour, the short rib was tender but nothing special. We agree with previous reviewers, the food at Jean-George at the Trump was a cut above and yes, at a fraction of the price, also a 3 Michelin starred restaurant. We ultimately also preferred the service of Jean-George. We would not recommend this restaurant unless one tend towards traditional french cuisine.
