“Trendy place, average food...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

If you are looking for a trendy place, this would be a good choice in NYC, if you are looking for great food, search somewhere else.
I was hoping to find amazing food and presentations, actually we went for dinner only to see the presentations because we work in the industry, but waht we find you can find it anywhere else, and lot cheaper, for example chopsticks are the same that you get in any takeaway chinese restaurant, that is amazing for the prices and the quality you are suppose to get in that kind of place.
Any way if you like to see and be seen, may be you will like it....

“Alway Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

As always, we had a fantastic meal! Yellowtail with jalopeno, red snapper with garlic flakes, miso cod, rock shrimp... The list goes on and my mouth is watering just thinking of the meal. Everyone must try this place.

“Too good to be true”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

If you have not eaten here you have not had truly great sushi. This is the place, to eat. My favorites are soft shell crab sushi, shrimp with asparagus, the eel, and the ancient beer. Robert Dinero is one of the owners. Great looking restaurant, as well as great people watching, but go for the food. Nobu is the chef here and may offer to cook for you. If you are so inclined I recommend you give him a try, he may tell you what you are getting, he may not. Make a reservation well in advance. The first time I ate his stuff was in LA at his first place on la Cienega. If you are there go!

“Awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

I live in Boston, but I never really liked the city so I always go to NYC at a Friend's for the week end. After one of the many weekends I spent there, I decided to thank her by inviting her in the restaurant. So I booked NOBU (the lower Manhattan one) and we went there. It was a first, so most of the time I just followed the waiter's suggestions, and I wasn't disappointed at all ! They had something with seaweed and something else with cold salmon (sorry for not remembering the names :( ) but anyway, the food is delicious there, especially if you are a japanese and/or seafood lover (which I am). As of the atmosphere, it is more of a Friend or Coupe things, which was perfect for us two. It's not cheap that's true, but they deserved all those hundreds of $$.

“snooty”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

barely passable sushi for high prices and a snub here and there. Just what everybody looks forward to in a Japanese meal.
