Description: Desmond's Steakhouse takes a contemporary approach to the quintessential New York steakhouse, melding stylish ambiance and service with culinary substance. Beef, USDA prime aged to perfection in our open-to-view dry aging room and prepared for the kitchen by our butcher, shares the menu with succulent raw bar selections, along with an array of other tempting non-steak offerings - fish, seafood, lamb, chicken and more. Like our diverse menu, Desmond's offers a variety of dining experiences. From a quick bite at the marble-topped bar - one of the city's longest (and most inviting!) to a business meal at the dining room's placed for private conversation tables or a romantic dinner at one of our cozy booths. Everywhere, there is a luxurious sense of comfort made even more welcoming by a staff dedicated to gracious service.

“Great steak, wine and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014

After a long but enjoyable first day in NY, we walked the High Line, we'll worth doing ! and on our way back to our hotel we felt in need for a drink and a foot rest, and came across Desmond's steak house grill and wine bar. We originally dropped in just for a beer served by Eddie, but after much discussion with him decided to stay. After saying we wanted the best steak New Yourk could offer he recommended a Porterhouse steak between two. It was excellent- albeit rather a lot for us underfed (!) Brits. Whether it was the best in New York I couldn't actually say,but it seemed so to us. After explaining my tastes in red wine he suggested one from an extensive list. I found that it was excellent, so good that I cant now remember its name - wish I could!

The evening was great Eddie was very welcoming and conversational and the food and wine fantastic. Not cheap, but real quality in New York. I would recommend whole heartedly. For really good service ask for Eddie.

“Great after show dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014

My group enjoyed an early dinner here after attending a matinee. We were seated by a window and could enjoy the view as well as the lovely surroundings of the restaurant. We ordered both steaks and seafood and agreed everything was cooked perfectly. Service was excellent and drinks top notch. I would very much recommend.

“Great New York Steak House”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

Went here on a Groupon and was just delighted. Kinda out of the way location from the Theatre District, but we decided upon this restaurant because of the Groupon deal and proximity to Penn Station. Steaks were as ordered, service was excellent and the wine that came with the Groupon was OK. Nice meal but would have been very expensive without the Groupon. I would return.

“Prix fixe $55 is the way to go”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

Came here following a show after reading about their black manhattan drink in the playbill. Beautiful, chic upscale environment with a huge marble topped bar and excellent service. Funny thing was that the bartender needed to see the drink recipe from the playbill in order to make that black manhattan. No problem though because it was delicious and filled to the rim. We had the $55 prix fixe menu which was quite generous. Started with a tasty and generous size wedge, medium rare 8oz filet done perfectly, creamed spinach and mashed potatoes, and their bread pudding. My dining companion had the Caesar and cheesecake options, both were delicious. This place is a perfect respite from the crowds of Broadway and Times Square.
