Description: The Musket Room brings the spirit of New Zealand and the country’s diverse cuisine to Manhattan’s Nolita neighborhood. Chef and owner Matt Lambert, a New Zealand native, created a menu that charts the evolution of New Zealand cuisine, from the country’s Old World traditions and Asian influences to its modern day dedication to local and seasonal offerings. Inspired by an era in New Zealand when adventure and discovery blossomed, The Musket Room offers a modern approach to the country’s culinary past, serving dinner, drinks and weekend brunch.

“Beautiful Room - Great Service - Excellent Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

We had a lovely dinner here on a Saturday Night. The service was attentive and the staff all very approachable and helpful. Dane did an excellent job with suggesting wines. The food was delicious, and the pastry chef stole our hearts. The room is really lovely, with a view onto the garden where they grow produce. A gem in the city. Put it on your TO EAT this.

“Amazing experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

Moved to NY about a year ago and this is the best meal we've had thus far. Very competent and professional service without being either overly familiar or too formal. Wonderful food from the cauliflower soup, cold smoked scallops (great presentation) to the deer (really nice w/o any gaminess) and best chicken dish ever! The deserts were also wonderful- particularly the buckwheat crème Brule. The drink menu is very creative with great cocktails. Not a cheap date but all in all a great night out. Highly recommend.

“Cozy Chic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

I love chef owned restaurants. The Chef is from New Zealand and his lovely wife is from Connecticut. He is in charge of the back of the house and she delightfully manages the front of the house. The menu is seasonal and delicious. It is limited but very creative. We sat in the front section which is a hub of activity because of the narrow aisle and close proximity to the bar. Next time I would like to sit in the garden room at the back of the restaurant. A nice neighborhood feel to the ambiance.

“A True EXPERIENCE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

Do not miss out on an Unbelievable experience. The Tasting menu is amazing and with the wine pairings, it is not just a meal it is an experience. We went with a group and didn't realize that almost 2 hours had gone by due to the great food, wine and restaurant setting. We cant wait to go back in the spring to see the Garden in full bloom.

“Pick Up the Phone and Make a Reservation, Now”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

Wow. Really, wow. Lovely decor, calm and subtle. Food was amazing from start to finish, literally melting in my mouth. We had the deer and the chicken and egg. The deer was supurb. Best roasted chicken dish I have ever had. Yes, really. Pavlova was amazing, true to the texture of the original Kiwi recipe. Nothing short of amazing with the passionfruit!
