“Good But not the Best”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

We visited here on the recommendation of our Daughters and it was very good but not the best Flemish Fries we have ever had.
That accolade goes to the fries shop in the main square in Brugges and these are not of that quality.

I would say that the dips though are excellent and as per previous reviewers I would strongly recommend the Pomegranate Teryiaki along with the Curry Ketchup.

Good value for money for a quick snack.

Craighigg1959, thanks for coming by during your visit to give our authentic frites a try. Of course, we don't claim to make the world's best frites; ours are an homage to the Belgian original. Still, it sounds like you enjoyed everything, especially the wide array of exotic sauces and flavor combinations we offer, and we're glad to hear it! Hopefully you'll join us again the next time you're in New York City. Safe travels, Suzanne and Omer

“Fries to kill for”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

It’s not that New York doesn’t serves you fries in better places especially when you could almost miss this place in a blink of the eye and have to take a little pain to get your order in your hands after having to go through a crowd of people getting desperate for their fries. But none of those matters once you try their frites as it is worth every pain and wait you had to do for you can’t beat the endless dipping they can offer and top it all the portions served are really generous and can stuff you quite satisfactorily. If at all you could manage, they have these tables that can hold your fries with holes in them. But getting a table or space for you to enjoy your fries in here would be like a fight for survival. Its better you get one for the road which would solve all the major distractions and would give you the best frites experience.

Hopefully the experience of waiting for our frites isn't too painful! Thanks for taking a moment to recommend us on TripAdvisor, Margriet. It's wonderful to hear you're such a fan of our famous frites and "endless" dipping sauces. Anytime you get a craving for a hearty and delicious snack, just come see us again for another cone. We can't wait to welcome you back soon!

Best wishes,

Suzanne and Omer

“My dream eatery”

Not expensive and a really fun meal with friends. A really cool concept and would encourage everyone to make the trip even if it's for a snack!

“Better frites than you may find in Belgium!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

Once upon a time, when I was a lonely bachelor, I had a routine that went something like this: get some frites from Pommes Frites with a couple of interesting dips like maybe garlic mayonnaise and curry ketchup, then head around the corner to Burp Castle with frites in hand, and have some awesome fries with some awesome beer. Then eventually I would have some dinner - maybe sushi at Ginger on 1st Avenue - and then stumble home to watch some tv or surf the Internet.

The important thing for the current conversation is that Pommes Frites was an integral part of the routine simply because they are great. Made fresh before your eyes - already boiled and then just fried to a nice crispy outside with a nice meaty moist potato inside. And the variety of dips they have are always inspiring - of course you can just go vanilla and get some mayonnaise and ketchup, but for a buck or two extra, you can make your fries chomping just a little more exciting.

Charming_Karl, it sounds like your bachelor days are over; is the same true of your frite-loving days? Thank you for the amazing recommendation. It's always nice to hear from a happy customer about how our food became a part of your life story. Hopefully there are many chapters left to write that include us! If it's been a while since your last visit, we hope you'll join us again soon.

Best wishes,

Suzanne and Omer

“Great snack”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

While they are not authentic Belgian fries, there is nothing like eating them out of a cone that gets you nostalgic for Brussels. There are tons of different sauces to choose from so everyone can be happy. They even have poutine (which my husband had to have). There are 3 different sizes of regular from starting at $4 and two different sizes of poutine. The sauces cost extra (I think around $2 each). There is limited seating inside (12-15 people) but most people got it to go. Definitely a NYC must!!!!!

Just an FYI, I got the small fry and I was beyond stuffed.
