I was fortunate enough to be taken here for lunch this week and the food is superb. Really, if you want rustic French food this is the best place I've been to in New York - I wish we had somewhere as good in Oxford! I had pig cheeks to start, which were meltingly tender, moist and perfectly accompanied by slightly chewy, perfectly cooked green lentils. The rabbit was fall-off-the-bone tender and came in a thick, viscous red wine reduction with a stodgy, wonderfully cheesy take on mac n cheese. Seriously, it was divine. I've no idea why people are griping about the service as I thought it was impeccably French (in a good way!). Best lunch I've had in a long time. I hope to get back there before I leave next week.
