“Good food, great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Had a Caesar salad that was excellent and rigatoni that was wonderful. Very friendly staff. And the olives and bread were great too. Great meal.

“used to be better and Italian...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Haven’t eaten there for years, even though I walk by it every day. The other day, having missed lunch hours at this perennial favorite, Le Veau d’Or, I decide to have a quick bite at Il Pescatore.
EXCELLENT Spagettini Marinara, lousy house wine (but then, what do you expect for $28 a bottle, in NYC), quick and efficient service, bad entertainment in the form of South of the Border music in an Italian restaurant, fun little fishes hanging from the ceiling, and – best of all – open all afternoon!

“Neighborhood Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Pescatore is a delightful place to raise your spirits with a festive atmosphere and enjoy good food that surpasses most neighborhood bistros. Service was attentive and professional. We had a good bottle of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc for $32....not cheap but not overpriced. The whole bronzino was delicious with crispy skin and moist insides. also tasty was the black pasta with shrimp and arugula, topped with an assertively spiced tomato sauce. The complementary whole wheat bread was a fresh baked delight, though accompanied by over-marinated soft olives. In all, good neighborhood fare, good time, reasonable price. we look forward to returning.

“Grat Flatbreads and Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

We went to Pescatore twice, once after the big Hurricane, then one more time for good measure as some menu items were not available due to the storm. The staff was very accomodating, and I will have to say the flatbreads are AMAZING. We brought our own wine, there is a small fee, which I won't put here in the event it changes, but it was worthwhile to us to bring our own.

We had the Sirlon, the Seared Salmon, and a few different salads, not sure of which but I do not recall ordering anything we didn't like. We had a 25$ off coupon from a food web site and when we presented it, it was not a problem. We will most definately be back, you can make
a meal from the flatbreads alone!!! Also, the first floor is nicer, and it can be a little noisy.

“Still a Great Choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I travel to NY for work regularly (and used to live there) and always fit in a dinner at Pescatore. Its sort of a "neighborhood" restaurant but I meet a number of business travelers like myslef that go there when in town.

The food is really good and the prices (by NY standards) are very reasonable. Fish is fresh and deliciously prepared. And the pasta is excellent too (try the Fettucine d'arogosta-- lobster)-- hi calorie and worth it. Since you are on 2nd avenue, its a great place to take an after dinner walk and burn off (some) of the calories

And the staff is friendly-- especially at the bar where I generally eat if I am alone.

I've been 4 times since August and will go again in December when there
