My daughter wanted go here for her birthday dinner. It is an amazing place but be warned, it can be VERY expensive. Caviar is great, service is one of the best ever. The experience is fantastic.

“Fabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012

My partner brought me here for valentines day as a surprise while we were on holidays from Australia. I can safely say that thanks to Caviar Russe it was the best Valentines day I've ever had. The service was excellent, the food was incredible and the caviar was spectacular! It was quite expensive and took a large chunk out of our holiday budget but we both walked out saying it was definitely worth it! We had the tasting menu with 6 or 7 courses and each one was better than the last (if that's even possible)!!! I would absolutely go back here for any occasion in NY. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

“Fabulous meal in Midtown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2012

Up one flight a luxurious experience awaits. We have eaten at many of tne of the top restaurants in Manhattan, and Caviar Russe is among them. The finest caviar, local ingedients and new chefs who go over the top in beautiful plates that do not disappoint in taste! Foie gras with rhubarb, turbot with fennel and clams, not to mention the caviar butter! Service is impeccable.

“Quasi perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2012

This is a luxuous very intimate restaurant, with around 5 tables and a bar. I do not really like caviar but I tasted and it was very good, though pricy, but as everywhere in the world I assume.
The smoked salmon was melting in our mouth, as well as the Foie Gras (for French people or lovers), which was exactly the portion that you need to appreciate without being full nor wanting too much more...
Then I took a delicious cod with an exquisit presentation and my husband had the risotto (which is on the Tasting Menu but can be asked à la carte), with some caviar on it, all excellent.
Excellent wine to pair, we took a Sancerre and never took care of serving, the staff was present at the right moment.
Very attentive staff, explains in detail the menu if you wish, corrects any issue with your table within the second, are here in advance of any question before you even open the mouth, without being here behind your table waiting for you to finish (they are really efficient and discrete).
The only point of discussion is the price (around $30-40 the appetizer, same for the main course, around $80 an average good wine) and the few propositions on the menu, but this is as in every luxuous restaurant and the quality really worth it!
I understand that the chef changed 4 months ago and comes from Alain Ducasse...

“A great slurge for a special occasion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2012

Very cute, intimate reataurant in midtown Manhattan. Of course, the caviar is pricey, but if you want a special splurge, this is it.
You can also get your caviar to go.
