Description: Café Centro is a bustling midtown brasserie with a stylish look that echoes the glamour of Paris in the 1930's. Guests can watch our chef as he prepares French-inspired cuisine with Mediterranean accents and sear top quality steaks. Pastry chef Ken Larsen's sumptuous desserts are not to be missed. The well priced wine list has received numerous Wine Spectator awards and has been voted "Best Beaujolais Bistro". Regular wine dinners are well attended. The attached Beer Bar is a great place for New York’s best burger, a casual lunch or to unwind over craft beers and cocktails. “Restaurant Week visit--good food, small portions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

I went with 5 colleagues to lunch here yesterday and we had a pleasant time. The food was very good, but the portions were very small. Beware that drinks a=like ice tea are not refilled at no charge--a colleague wound up paying $9.50 for 2 ice teas. The assortment was nice and slightly different than the norm. They had a salad with heirloom tomatoes, peaches and almonds that looked exceptional, and the hanger steak looked like a much bigger poirtion than the Arctic char. The service here is always good, and the management keeps a watchful eye on things so that the customer has an all-around enjoyable experience. I'll keep going back, and I recommend that you go too.

“Sit by the kitchen window!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012 via mobile

Visited with a colleague during Restaurant Week, so it was hectic and crowded but wonderful anyway. The 3-course lunch (potato vichyssoise, chicken with mushrooms and spatzaele, flan with peaches) was an incredible treat at an exceptional price, service was a tad rushed but professional enough, and the kitchen window seat provided the entertainment. Lovely place for a good meal, though not relaxing at lunch.

“Should be so much more.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

So amazingly inept for a place that should do so much better. Why can't all food come out at the same time? Why can't a side of mushy, overcooked spinach at least come out before main dishes have been finished? Why can't the correct check go to the correct customer? Decent food, but not even close to the value of what you get. Won't be back.

“MetLife Location Winner”

Bright, inviting dining room and delicious food. The fish selections are particularly good. Fun to sit outside during lunch.

“Good food and atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

The location is great, and the food is very good. I think this place is geared for tourists and business lunches. That being said, our group was there for a business lunch, and the food was fresh and delicious. The service was average, but we were in the corner and it was busy, but then again, if you are going to charge $25 plus for a lunch, I think they could have moved a little quicker.
