3 of us tried to have dinner at Girello last night. We arrived at 8 to a full room, 1 waitress for maybe 7 tables. We ordered drinks, appetizers and entrees, everything on the menu, no substitutions, nothing difficult. Eventually, our appetizers arrived, piecemeal. Mine arrived just as my friends were finishing theirs. At this point, 2 tables had turned and the new patrons also were receiving their food. No word on our entrees--a pizza, lazagna, and a panini. At some point, the lone waitress walked out of the restaurant, returning 15 minutes later. Still no entrees. We did not see any of the entrees at our table until we had been there for an hour an a half, when the waitress--long on apologies, short on food--put down my girlfriend's pizza. I asked for the check. We were not charged for food we did not receive, but I've never experienced this sort of ineptitude anywhere else. Usually, I would tip like a drunken sailor. I did not, to register my displeasure. I cannot imagine ever returning to Girello. For that matter, if this is the service model, I cannot imagine it remaining open.
