“Breakfast Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

There are many of these little restaurants/cafes spread around NYC and especially in the Theatre District. I have only eaten breakfast at Café Edison but have reviewed their menu and it is extensive for any meal.

I love the breakfast, as it is fast and plentiful and always tastes great. I normally get an omelet which comes with fried potatoes and toast. Coffee is separate and although the menu shows an extra fee for additional cups, my waiters have never charged me extra.

The food is always great tasting and this trip in addition to a few days of omelets I tried the Eggs Benedict and they also were great. So great service and great food equals a great restaurant. A Western Omelet with fried potatoes, toast and jam, coffee, plus tip (they add the tip) came to a total of $12 so prices are reasonable. Remember you are in NYC. High recommended.

“Darned good food in a cool old cafe!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

Great old fashioned cafe. Loads of choices. Plain and good food and LOTS of it! Not many like this left in the city. If you want generic atmosphere this is not the place for you. However, if you enjoy old fashioned decor and good plain food with decent service don't miss this cafe! Remember though- CASH ONLY!!

“Ate there when we checked in.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

We ate there on our first day there. Had a pastrami sandwich, my sister had a Rueben and my niece had a hamburger. The meals were excellent and you got a lot of food. We had to take half our sandwiches to the room with us being we requested a fridge. We were full on half a sandwich.

“LOTS of History”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

I liked everything about the Cafe EDISON. Soup is real good. LARGE portions for a reasonable price. The only drawback that we saw was the Cafe only takes ca$h. BUT they do have an ATM in front of the register.
