“Perfectly executed regional Italian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2014

We visited Amarone for dinner after a Sunday matinee. The service was very attentive, the ambiance was classic-comfortable (white table linens but a relaxed feeling) and the food was very good by my standards (I'm the granddaughter of an Italian chef). We had the risotto of the day and the ravioli special. The pear salad and grilled mushroom app were both perfectly executed. The zabaglione was the best I've had since my grandmother passed.

The pricing is what one would expect in NYC for this area of town: pasta dishes are mid-teens to low $20; meat dishes are mid-$20s to mid-$30s. The wine list had a wide range of quality Italian regional wines at price points starting at $45).

“Wonderful service and great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

We stopped in and were fortunately able to be seated despite the restaurant being busy on a Friday evening. We started with the Fried Calamari and shared the Fava Bean Salad which were both excellent. Salad was unique and delicious. Then we had entrees of Orecchiette, Chicken Parmigiana, Veal Chop, and unfortunately cannot recall the last meal. But everyone enjoyed their meals thoroughly. We were celebrating a birthday and they put together a beautiful plate of mixed desserts and served that along with Grappa and Moscato. The owner was sweet and the servers were professional and attentive. They made the night special and everything was delicious.

“A Midtown West Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

If you like good traditional Italian food served straight up then Amarone would be a good choice. Good food, good prices, great service and fast if you're going to a show.

“Excellent food nice atmosphere close to theaters”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2014

Made reservations for a group of 4 for a pre show dinner. The place we originally wanted to try was booked so we went here based on Trip Advisor reviews. Glad we went. Reasonable prices adequate portions nice atmosphere. Good wine list both by the glass and bottle. Try the parpadelle Bolognese. it was perfect.Would go there again in a heartbeat.

“Service disorganized”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2014

Head waiter was rude! It took 10 minutes to get a menu, just as long to get water( which was not refilled) bread, ok. Asked for butte, he forgot, brought it later after a second request. The food was ok,not outstanding. We were done eating , it took 15 mins. To clear the table. He got the coffee order wrong, no utensil for coffee or dessert.
At dinner , he was asked if the side is pasta was coming, he replied" the waiter only had two hands"
The place was packed. Service was terrible! Very disappointed. A 2 is the best rating I can give.
