Description: Churrascaria Plataforma is a Rodizio style restaurant. Rodizio is a method of serving meat that originated in the south of Brazil in the early 1800's. The concept is to serve a wide variety of different cuts of beef - sirloin, baby beef, top round, skirt steak, short ribs, brisket, rib eye; pork - ham, pork ribs, sausage, pork loin, suckling pig; chicken - chicken legs, chicken hearts; turkey - wrapped in bacon; lamb, fish, etc. in succession, to each diner individually right at their table. A meal typically begins with a trip to the gourmet salad bar, which features a variety of vegetables and composed salads in addition to four hot dishes. We also serve a selection of side dishes at your table. The main course, the highlight of the meal, will start when you flip your coaster-sized "chip" from the red side to the green side, signaling the meat cutters you're ready to be served. Winner of Three Consecutive NYC Health Dept "Golden Apple Award".

“Too Much Beef!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Didn't get a Brazilian flavor at all here. Very good salad bar, but multi- ethnic. Then come endless courses of marinated meats - some were good, some not-so-much...

“Meat-a-torium”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

This place is great. You can leave in a true meat coma.
They have a fantastic salad bar but the real attraction is the skewered meats that are carved for you at the table.
You can sample several different type of beef from fillets to short ribs, chicken, sausage and the like to your hearts content.
If you have room desserts are excellent as well.
The price is high but when you consider the top flight service and the endless flow of meat it's worth it for a special meal.

“Great food, setting seemed a bit off however”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

I really cannot say that there were any negatives. Food was great, selection was vast, and the room in the restaurant was plentiful. What threw me was the decor/atmosphere. It didn't seem to go with the Brazilian theme or food? Mayberry ignorance to that culture but all in all a great place with great food.

“Top of the line for Food, Service & Ambiance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

This place was spectacular!!!!! Provides Top of the line food, service and ambiance.
The carved meats at your tableside were awesom! In addition, the all you can eat salad bar provided numerous salads, appetizers and other complimentary food additions. The wines were very good [a little pricey] and they had an excellent selection. Service and sparkeling clean floors that you could eat off. We watched them clean up a spilled plate that was loaded with food and they decended like a group of wolves to a feast but they were cleaning the floor. Multiple steps to insure no one would fall and that this spot looked like a newly waxed floor!
Great Ambiance for a dinner or lunch.

I highly recommend this place for couples!

“Tribeca location great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Went to the Tribeca location one weekend for a large family party (booked in advance). Having been to the midtown location, wasn't sure what to expect at Tribeca. It was cozier, but the meat was tastier and service was fantastic. I would not hesitate to come back (and in fact, am planning to come back) here instead of midtown.
