“Special treat for a special night”

One of the most beautiful restaurants in NYC. Full-on service, if you like that kind of thing. Watch out for the wine list, excellent wines, but pricey.

“Must try”

Tried it once because of rating on yelp and had to eat there again. Food and service was great. Prices reasonable.

“Superb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

Went back in Oct. with a group of 17 people. Very consistent food and service excellent.Ask waiters to not hover and they will attentive but not obtrusive. Dover sole and soufflet were both my top choices.. but all 16 other people loved their meals. The large dessert souffle was great but almsot a meal in itself.
Prices are steep but worth every penny..Would go back in a heartbeat.Lovely decor but if allergic to flowers a different venue might be advisable. as flowers are all over discreteetly placed..Wine choices galore . If in NYC try this French beauty.

“Was disappointed”

Considering the alternative choices in New York, the food was good, but not equivalent to the costs. It was a great looking restaurant and the service was excellent.

“Excellent meal but a little confusing ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

My husband and I visited based on Trip Advisor rating and a list of top 10 romantic restaurants in New York. The food was terrific. We chose a theater menu with wine pairing. They took care to keep us in schedule. We found out server a bit abrupt and difficult to communicate with. Although cell phones and children weren't allowed, the server stood nearby and whistled (impatiently?) while my husband visited the men's room. Once we chose the tasting and pairing menu we thought our decisions were made. Then he kept asking us what we want. We actually had choices for each course. We thought he would pair the most appropriate wine with each course (like other restaurants where we've opted for wine pairing meals.). Instead he kept coming back to ask us what we want. Finally I just asked him to please select the best option for our course. He also leaned on our table with his arms folded to speak with us.
The dining room is very beautiful and fragrant and quiet and romantic. We enjoyed, except needing to rush to theater and frustrating communication with French server. (I almost forgot to mention being spoken to in French and the menu being in French.)
