Description: Scalini Fedeli ranked among New York's finest restaurants since its opening in early 2004, taking Italian cuisine to new heights. Rewarded with the highest overall ratings in the Zagat Survey, Scalini Fedeli has been granted one star by the Michelin guide in it's inaugural 2006 issue. The inviting decor features vaulted ceilings and European antiques and provides the perfect setting for chef Michael Cetrulo's delightful cuisine which offers the finest ingredients coupled with a confidence and grace that ensures your meal will be a memorable one. Menu highlights include soft egg yolk raviolo with ricotta and truffle butter and New York's finest venison chop in a port wine and balsamic vinegar sauce with toasted hazelnuts, sauteed spinach and roasted Mission figs. The 350-bottle wine list encompasses all regions of Italy but also does justice to the best American wineries.

“Private Dinner in Wine Cellar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013 via mobile

I was a guest at a private dinner party in SF's wine cellar. In all fairness, the menu was pre-set by our hosts. IT was a tasking menu of a zillion courses. It included some things I would not have ordered and didn't include some things I would have ordered so part of my 4 star (rather than 5 star) rating probably has to do with that. All in all, the tasting items were delicious and well-prepared. The service was wonderful. The wine list is excellent, as well. I would definitely go back again on my own and order a few of the things on the menu that I didn't get to try last night. All in all, a really nice experience and a lovely restaurant in a good location.

“Sustained Excellence..every dish...every visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

Fourth visit, and there will be a fifth. The food is fantastic, always, EVERY dish. I'd like to see a four-course prix fixe, in addition to three, but the chef does always send out extra scrumptious morsels. Highlights from this visit were the Seared Diver Scallops with Lobster Ravioli and perfectly cooked Prawn-crusted Halibut filet on Spinach.

I must add to this review that while I've always felt welcome when coming and appreciated when going at Scalini Fedeli, the waiters themselves are really very poor for a restaurant of this quality. One time in four, we had a great waiter, the others were indifferent, at best, with a borderline haughty condescension, at worst. No good...but the food so good, just know what to order and ignore them.

“Great food and setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

Went here with colleagues for dinner, and the menu is fantastic-we had a fixed price ($70) menu for 3 courses, plus the amuse bouche..... sorbet..... great food and the wine list was pretty good (mainly Italian though, as you'd expect).

Service was non-intrusive, and fast for a party of 11.

It's a little out of the way down in lower Manhattan, but well worth a visit.

“Expensive and worth it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Everything about this restaurant is perfect. The best meal we had in New York city and we
went to many good places. I would go back to New York just to eat here.

“Outstanding experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

My wife and I visited here last week and it was an amazing evening. The food and service were both impeccable and although not cheap, the fixed price menu had plenty of options and many options took my fancy.

This place is very romantic so dress up and have a brilliant night out.
