The menu features a wide variety of small & large plates from Snacks, House-Made Charcuterie, Salumi, Artisanal Cheeses, Salads as well as Handmade Pastas, all expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The rustic and comfortable dining room lends itself to a quick lunch where guests can try our Croque Monsieur, a full dinner of Choucroute Garnie and Ricotta Ravioli, or a snack of Pecorino Arancini and East Coast Oysters. We are also serving a soul-satisfying brunch with dishes like Pork Scrapple & Eggs and our Applewood Smoked Salmon prepared in-house. Be sure to save room for Pastry Chef, Abby Swain’s creations including her take on the S’mores Tart.

“Embarrassing Place to Treat Guests”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

Not sure where to begin: the tasteless food or the lackadaisical service. After a surprisingly insight Open House at NYFA, we treated family to Craftbar for Saturday lunch/brunch. What a mistake! We waited 45 minutes for 2 mediocre Bloody Marys, followed by not only a disappointing menu, but simply bland food. One person ordered grits with shrimp, which was like canned broth it was so soupy. Two of us shared a salad and anchovy bruschetta, which was more like jar-brand pickled herring. And it got worse. Someone told me that a television chef owns this restaurant. I could do better - and I'm an MBA!

“Too average for me”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

We had dinner for my 4-year-old here (told them in advance). It was a party of 7. They put us at a large circular table. Too large for the party and it was 3/4 booth, which made bathroom runs uncomfortable for all.

Food was not as impressive. I was truly surprised that the lamb meatballs was not more flavorful. The arancini was decent. My panne cotta was not yummy, but bland. I pushed aside the marmalade topping. We also ordered Churros which was sampled but not finished.

They promised a birthday surprise... It was two scoops of ice cream with a candle. That was disappointing. We've had so much more flair at Friend of a Farmer and Blue Smoke. No, we will not be returning.

“Great late night meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

We were looking for a place to grab a bite after a late movie, and hard as it is to believe in NYC, were having trouble finding a restaurant with quality food that was open.

Craftbar was happy to seat us at 10:45.

The menu was full of creative offerings inspired by local fare. We honestly had trouble deciding. I ended up going for the white bbq chicken confit and the beet salad. Both did not disappoint. My husband had pasta with meatballs and claims its the best he's ever had. He's been craving them for the last 2 weeks since we got home from our trip.

The atmosphere is fun -- love the wine loft. It was actually a little entertaining to watch the wait staff navigate those narrow stairs with the old fashioned wine crates.

Staff was friendly and helpful. An all-around great experience.

“Much improved”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

A very pleasant dinner last nite at craft bar. Much improved from my original Impression years ago. Oysters, while small, were
briney and fresh. The beet salad, with mixed red and yellow beets, proved bright and flavorful. The roasted also a winner. And the churros with the spiced chocolate dipping sauce...so good. Would have given this 5 stars, but the service seemed a little uneven. Just a bit. I don't care to be passed between servers. Our original wait person disappeared throughout most of the dinner, others then stepped in to wait on us, only for the orig. dude to return at the very end. But, minor annoyance in an otherwise enjoyable eating experience.

“Great service very good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

We greatly enjoyed the white sardine bruchetta and the octopus apps along with our entree's which included the scallops and the cod. Everything was expertly prepared and the service was very good as well. This is a casual place with a lively atmosphere and very good food. I'm glad we tried it.
